- Buy mass heal scrolls from Jhod... 20-25 should be more than enough. They can be used to quickly heal your party from all kind of stats damages like the stat damage from mandragora swarm.
- Spoiler but you should probably read it. Unequip everything on Linzi and replace her with a merc or a other companion. Tristian and Jaethal quest was done how?
- There is one last merchant at the house with maybe good stuffs for you. So try to bring some money and that's why you should sell everything ''useless'' in your chest.
The first step on making the House ''easy'' is to counter the gaze attack from the wild hunt and there is basically 3 ways to do so
Freedom of movement
It won't protect animal companion and Tiefling from the gaze and its overall the worst method but the cheapest.
Blind Fight
Its a feat and if you don't know what to take at level 17, then Blind Fight is a very good choice in preparation for the House if that character don't have access to echolocation.
Echolocation
Its the best method overall but its a personal spell and only a alchemist can give it to others. Many arcane classes have access to it...
After protecting yourself against gaze, how you deal with wild hunt monarch will make a big difference on the difficulty of the zone. Their weakness is fortitude save and the most efficient way of dealing with them is to cast a Stinking Cloud on them while your party is immune to poison with Delay poison communal. The wild hunts in general suffer from the same weakness.
Next would be to understand that almost every areas in the House has a world A and B. Entering any fog with the lantern OFF will teleport you to the other world and some fogs are unique and teleport us to ''unique'' place.
Well, I convinced Jaethal to do the "good thing", which blew her to bits. I also forgave Tristian everything and convinced him to stay human.
Get Tiffling sisters
Have both take/have the wall ability.
Have valerie bait rooms and activate guards.
Run her out of the room, have Tifling one set up a magma wall
Have tifling sister 2 set up a mud walla ontop of it.
TROLLOLOLOLOL
Also if you think you have enough Heal and restoration scrolls on you, you dont.
House at the edge of time, is regarded by a good amount of people as a horribly designed dungeon, its horribly long, filled with countless F U mechanics. Perception and trickery checks that are upwards of 50+ units that cant be seen with see invisibility, lots of lock down unit that throw out save or die mechanics, ghostly guards that use corruption to drain your str so not even protection from evil or death ward will protect you.
If you go into it, and find you are struggle busing, dont be ashamed or feel bad if you need to drop the difficulty, until you get to Nyrissa and the latern king, you are not alone in doing that.
Well, the time has come and I have another question:
Should I do the House at the Edge of Time first? Because the other quest you get at the Castle of Knives seem to include a good amount of traveling the world map. I fear that my kingdom will suffer from that.
I recommend clearing as much map as you can. I think the First Crown quest is required, but the Secrets of Suramgamin quest is optional. As mentioned though, if you have to wait anyway, why not try the Secrets quest?
Depending on your main character and availability of save/reload or guides, the beginning of the house can cause some serious problems. After that, all of the end game is repetitive. If you need to scratch and claw for each fight, it'll not go so well.
Well the good news for me is that Rovagug wasn't quite the brickwall I thought it was going to be and it has so far been the most challenging fight I have had in the entire game so far. Sort of used to encountering at least one brick wall in a CRPG which is also the turning point where my party feels much more capable. Beyond the KM I haven't really encountered something like that in this game yet. I keep expecting it to creep up on me, perhaps this is it? Going for a lawful Good character so I am hoping it will keep the issues to a minimum.
