How will I know when to start Varnhold's Lot? Apologies for the repetitive question.
To be clear, yes, I've googled this. And I've gotten answers but is it obvious when I should start the DLC? Like I won't be paying attention 100% of the time, so I might miss the "perfect" window and stuff like "season of bloom or the troll invasion." Kinda like how I missed the Valerie buckle lol.

Does the game make it obvious enough for you to know that you can optionally start the DLC at a specific time?

Technically you can do Varnhold DLC at anytime. The game will still import the data as soon as you enter the throne room for the first time after completing the DLC and as long as your main campaign is pass Varnhold chapter.

But story wise and chronologically its when you start getting letters from Meagar Varn asking you to visit Varhold and that's during Season of Bloom chapter. After (minor spoiler) saving the capital and burning the flower would be the optimal time story wise to do the DLC.

You can play it anytime, but make sure it is done before the end of Season of the Bloom. I cannot remember if there was any hint from the game, though.
On my campaign calendar it the key event was at the 10th lamashan 4711, when it should have been finished. The interaction is very light, so nothing gamebreaking is happening if you haven't played the DLC, which is a separate adventure.

You'll know when you are actively working on "Season of Bloom" and "Troll Invasion" because they are the names of the main quest you are in in Linzi's journal quest log.

What I did is switch over and do the DLC when I was working on the Season of Bloom quest line, because I knew that I needed to have it done before finishing Season of Bloom but I didn't want to look any spoilers, thus wasn't aware of what exactly would lead to the "end" of the Season of Bloom.

Having been through it now, after Season of Bloom there's a short period of time before Varnhold Vanishing starts, and it is in early in that questline where it asks for the import from the DLC.

So essentially, my window is during Season of Bloom and a small one after finishing it? Do I have to finish Varnhold's Lot first if I play it during Season of Bloom?

But what's more important, I reckon, is to finish it prior to the next even about that Varnhold vanishing right?

I see, so that's the small window of downtime that Jaggid Edje mentioned where I can do the quest? I'm playing the game mostly from an RP perspective, so I want to know the chronological time I should play the DLC, thanks Mork!
