Heighten spell metamagic not working?

Having issues using the feat on my level 2 domain spell so I can Heighten that spell in my 3rd and 4th level domain slots. Anyone know how to use Heighten?

- Open the 'metamagic' window in the spell book
- select a spell you want to metamagic
- drag the little metamagic icon into the wheel
- in heighten case, add levels (+1 level = +1 DC)
- choose color and border to make it easier to spot or know what metamagic is on it
- Depending on your caster class and his method of casting, you might have to prepare it in your spellbook for a wizard or a sorcerer will have access to it from his spellbook quick tab right away.

I think that you can't apply metamagic to domain spells.
(did you take fire domain on your druid and miss the animal companion?)

Noooo way?? I have Cacophonous Call I wanted to only Heighten that. It's for my Cleric.

I metamagic domain spells all the time

Great, and Finrod I ended up getting the animal companion, smilodon is amazing
