how do i enter pitax?

I've killed the bandits, destroyed the bards and ruined their monster teleporting scheme, but i keep getting the "pitaxian influence" event and i don't know what i'm supposed to do now. I can't enter pitax.

I am way past the corresponding bald hill event and no invitation is forthcoming. I think that 1.1 broke that part, but it worked before.

You need to complete the dream sequence and follow that questline in order to enter Pitax.

The dream sequence is tied to a kingdom project which you have to complete first.

I have a feeling it is that event which is not happening. But there is no way to trigger it, so re-starting with 1.1 didn't help me much.
