About cold iron, silver etc.
I searched but didn't find anything. I just see, that dmg on some creatures is "reduced", example: the mites in Old Sycamore.

Perhaps I didn't notice something obvious (like I do so often...) but where can I find something, which tells me

"use cold iron against...." or "cold iron needed"
"use at least +X enhanced weapons against..."
when I push "inspect" (beta)
etc.

Silver is clear: Wererats and normally all other were-xxx.
The only silver weapon I found are my monks fists, which are considered magical / silver at level 5 or 6.

Strange enough: I can kill the were-tiger in one of the locations with any party, while the wererats insist on silver....

NOTE: Please no advices in reagard of the wererats. I have defeated them several times.

EDIT: After one level more I can see it now in the "inspect" screen.

Enhancement bonus should allow you to bypass DR forms. I don't remember which bonus bypasses which material offhand though.

+3 should bypass cold iron, silver etc
+4 adamantine
+5 alignment specific DR

+3 breaks cold iron/silver dr
+4 breaks adamantine dr
+5 breaks good/evil dr

At least that's how it should be, don't know if the game works that way.
And there are of course special cases like trolls and linnorms and such that can only be killed by certain methods.

Journal => Encyclopedia => Bestiary. There are mostly text walls, but it's possible to get the general idea what you need to kill things, if you don't have anything +3/4/5.

Edit. It was a poor example, because it actually doesn't tell anything about cold iron (which is required to stop linnorm's regeneration), but it mentions that the beast is poisonous and fire-breathing (thus, protection from energy and poison is recommended).

With the "inspect" feature the bestiary definitely needs to get updated to allow for stat blocks :P

And nothing there says, that you need cold iron steel to kill it.

About silver:

Has anyone found silver weapons? If so, when and where?

My highest party is lvl 9 and has yet none, except the few cold iron ones from the shop in town.

There are no "silver" weapons in the game, but there are mithral weapons in the game, which counts as silver.

IIRC Silver weapons actualy reduces weapon damage; mithral makes the weapon lighter in weight only and counts as silver.

there is one loading hit that tells about cold iron for that wingless dragon. In on e of the earliest books, it says you need silver for wererats, and something about willó´whisp and another enemy

where does one even get a cold silver or silver weapon? Town vendors?
Dr. Bliss \MD/ Jul 9, 2019 @ 2:48am
You can buy a cold iron handaxe +1 (I think) at Hassuf´s shop in the capital. Also, adamantine weapons count as silver for the purpose of overcoming dr.

I've had Cold Iron weapons turn up in loot already near the start of Chapter 1, so I think you should be able to find a few.

Lots of the books you find in game have descriptions hinting on what to take. Like Cold Iron against fey. Or silver against warewolves. Just look at the official Paizo material and there are countless guides to special materials.

You can find a Cold Iron Dagger in the Old Sycamore map, the first I encountered in the game.
