pathfinder kingmaker vs neverwinter nights enhanced
i may be speaking to the biased but id like your opinion, especially if youve played both. Would you reccomend Pathfinder kingmaker over the Neverwinter Nights enhanced edition? ive played through the origional Neverwinter Nights and the two main expansions(undertide/underdark?) and loved it but that must have been 15years ago, does that change your answer? sorry left a few words out of my post and im not sure why (bong hits probably)

You're probably better off buying the original again than playing the "enhanced" versions of classic games from Beamdog. Personal opinion, of course.

The "enhanced" versions are the originals with a facelift. Which you can usually pick up relatively cheap from the dreaded GOG, or grab them for the chap price on steam for a sale.

I'd say if you want to play NWN again grab the enhanced edition and do so. Kingmaker isn't going anywhere and the longer yo uwait before playing it the better the experience will be.

If it's a question of "either or" then I chose to grab Kingmaker myself since I have a NWN Diamond Edition disk set anyway :P

The enhanced edition has nice features that I want to have eventually of course.

NWN and, to a much lesser extent, NWN2 are fun when you go to corresponding Nexus sites, go to Top 10/20/30/whatever best mods and play those. And only enhanced editions I would recommend against are BG and BG2. New characters and quests stick out and are just overall not well done. Use unofficial patches and you'll get a better experience with vanilla game.

EE for Planescape:Torment and, indeed, NWN are so minimal you likely won't notice there even was a remaster... Dunno about Icewind Dale.

Old thread but I'm going to comment anyway. I've played NWN when it first came out and continue to play the enhanced edition today. I like to play according to the PnP rules. So I'll set the difficulty in each game accordingly. I prefer Pathfinder's rules over DnD 3.0, especially for some classes like Paladin. Kingmaker has a better selection of race and class options. The problem with Kingmaker is it's difficulty when using PnP rules. Although NWN has it's moments like when it pits you up against bloated dire spiders whose poison is a DC 25 save and can wipe half your strength. While your character is likely only level 5 ish. That said, I've never been able to beat the Stag Lord in Kingmaker using PnP rules. Way too much time passes when hunting and rations weigh way too much.

What I would love is a game like NWN but using Pathfinder instead of DnD.
