I've always started with short swords, but there aren't any greater than +2 until late in the game. There are good daggers, so I dw with two daggers or a ss and dagger.
If you do a Google search for "Pathfinder Kingmaker weapons" the wiki has a list. Click on each weapon type to find a list of the magic weapons in the game and (sometimes) where to find them.
Punching daggers also get some nice options, but not until you're about halfway through the game.
Late in the game you get a shortsword that basically bypasses all defense. It is one of the best weapons in the game.
As to daggers, there are many that are good, including an early one that gives you a 3 AC bonus (and you can wield two of them at the same time for a +6 bonus), and several that give added effects. Plus a lot of people like the cold iron dagger +1 for the regenerating dragons and such.
If you are running a dual weapon rogue, a couple levels of fighter will REALLY pay off, as well.
There are probably more.
