i think that depends on your build, if u want a melee weapon i guess dagger would be good for pure rogues, simple but effective, there are other options as well tough, u could google the available weapons if u wanted to know what is in the game, i think rapiers are more for hybrids because a lot have agile enchantment what would be a waste of rogues

i used rapiers for main and there not many good rapiers in the game sadly. once u meet a certain character youll start to get alot of nice khukuris and they tend to come in pairs cos this character is dual wielding em, might be worth considering.

I've always started with short swords, but there aren't any greater than +2 until late in the game. There are good daggers, so I dw with two daggers or a ss and dagger.

If you do a Google search for "Pathfinder Kingmaker weapons" the wiki has a list. Click on each weapon type to find a list of the magic weapons in the game and (sometimes) where to find them.

Daggers are a good choice. Plenty of enchanted daggers. Relatively early on there is a dagger with confusion on hit, which is nice.

Punching daggers also get some nice options, but not until you're about halfway through the game.

Daggers and short swords.
Late in the game you get a shortsword that basically bypasses all defense. It is one of the best weapons in the game.
As to daggers, there are many that are good, including an early one that gives you a 3 AC bonus (and you can wield two of them at the same time for a +6 bonus), and several that give added effects. Plus a lot of people like the cold iron dagger +1 for the regenerating dragons and such.

If you are running a dual weapon rogue, a couple levels of fighter will REALLY pay off, as well.

Well, on my latest prematurely ended playthru, I ran into two. One in the cave near the bridge, and one in the Tenebrous depths dungeon.
There are probably more.
