can you turn off inventory encumberance?

i dont mind it when the stuff is on my character but just general inventory feels a bit punishing and lacking that is there a mod that changes encumbrance people can recommend?

There is an option in the difficulty menu that removes slowdown. It is only a bit annoying in the first hours, when you don't have a chest in the city/trading post yet. My tip is to bring a groupmember with a pet. I think it adds its strenght too.

Yeah a pet will add to the load and act as a pack mule.

Bag of Tricks can do this (just like almost anything else you can imagine). There's a section "Encumbrance & Carrying Capacity".

Its not really a big deal when you get further in. You can get bags of holding and pets add a crazy amount of encumbrance. I can carry about 5000 encumbrance when I bring a mammoth along.

General encumbrance is less punishing than personal anyway since it only affects you on the world map. Personal encumbrance hits you more where it matters.
