How to increase spell accuracy?

Hi all.
I seem to miss my targets most of the time when casting an offensive spell.
How to increase spell accuracy?

Increase the DC (difficulty class) of the spells. Use Spell Focus, Greater Spell Focus, and Heighten Spell metamagic

As for your particular query. I'm assuming you are using Ray spells (they have the word "ray" in description) and more exactly Ray of Frost.

theres a -4 to hit if you are casting at a single target already in melee combat, you need the precise shot feat to not suffer this
