Can you switch to the world map while in a location?

Iirc this is a feature present in (all?) crpgs. When you are within a specific locale, you typically can switch to the world map as needed. I cannot see any way to do this, am I missing it or is it not implemented?

There is no such feature. And I cannot think of a RPG that allows it, since it is basically an escape button.

heh. all old great crpg allowed that, bladur's gate 1 and 2, icewind dale 1 and 2. you could always switch between area map and world map. Moragin clearly has zero clue about crpgs.

I think Moragin just misunderstood the question as asking if you could switch the "party onto" the world map, rather than just switch the "view to" the world map.

You could view the world map in those games you just couldn't pop open the world map and fast travel from the area you're in.

Correct, I just meant can you view it. Most old school RPGs do allow that, but this game doesn't. Seems a bit of a glaring omission.

It would of been great to have this feature in some instances. Even if there was a mod for it, especially when doing Varnhold's Lot. Just to cover the areas you've already done or that can still be done since it seems you don't have much access to the world map. I've progressed to the 'Old Stump' and it seems more like story format forced map travel so you never have control over the world map.
