Kinetisist + Medium Armor question.

Does it work? Aka playing as one of the other types and nabbing the training feat, or is it only the Knight variant that's ever allowed to 'cast' while in armor other then light?

Sorry if this is a stupid question to many, but I just find the information on pro/cons on the various sub-classes needlessly overcomplicated, fluffy, and frustrating to parse in this game.

No penalty to using armor and the kineticist abilities. Don't really need to use higher than light armor if you have a good dex bonus. If you want to though you could get a level of fighter to get access to medium and heavy armor instead of spending a feat.

Currently planning a pure Kinetisist as my main so no multiclassing for me, but just found that this game has Mithral gear, and that one early breastplate is currently looking mighty tempting for the one character always stuck in my party.

Think that's going to be worth one feat for the added durability.

There are several nice light armors around, too. Tirval's masterpiece and the artefact armor come to mind, but you get them only after being crowned.
