How to Deal with Fey?
I am going absolutely nyts, trying to deal with the Dire Narlmarshes.. Several maps just completely wipe me, with the insane CC. One map has multiple pranksters that infinitely CC my entire squad, and others are impossible to hit (Lady of Shadows), while still CCing some of my guys.. What are you supposed to do against these fey? There are just too many s[pells for me to remember which to use, and Ill be damned if Ive been able to figure out what I need to counter some of these.

Its getting really old that I have to save, try a fight, reload, then reassign the spellbook for that particular fight! My group is lvl 10, and Ive tried multiple group makeups. It still always happens. My main is a two handed fighter, I usually take Valerie, who seems to soak extremely well, Ekundayu, a cleric, then some arcane casters.

I am not finding any help online about Fey, some of them I dont have any information on, even if I inspect them. I am at a complete loss on them, and its making me hit another wall with this game.

(Lady of Shadows),
1) In second run it was Baleful Polymorph reload\reload\reload
2) in first run it was a tons of buffed skeletons. They are immune to charm

There are a lot of kingdom upgrades that makes you immune to almost everything while fighting on claimed lands, they can be a good investment.

There is a level 1 cleric spell (cant remember the name) that protects against mind affecting spells.

Animate skeletons (level 3 cleric, 4 wizard/sorcerer) is pretty good to summon and just have enemies exhaust themself on while you pick them off from a distance.
Took me two attempts to fight her.
First attempt got absolutely wrecked with the charm.
Second attempt half my team was dead but I managed!

My MC is a control Sorc and iirc, acid pit and stinking cloud saved me there.
This game -really- requires utility in some fights over powering through.

Else, have cold iron weapons on your melee hitters to make it easier if you can't debuff the mobs.
Mind-effect prevention, anything with +saving throws...

Skeleton spam is an excellent spell for a distraction force and meat shields. I often use them as psuedo tanks.

Jubilost bomb spam is heavily op and highly damaging.
Also tripping with pets (Ekundayo/Okbo!)

If you're having trouble with spell memerization.
There should -always- be in your toolkit.

Delay poison communal, protection from elements communal, some stealth detection (like glitterdust or see invisibility), restorations, bless/bane, haste/slow, mass buff spells (like strength for damage , or will for mindstuff), control spells like grease, stinking cloud, hold person, vinetrap etc.

True Seeing from Harrim and Jaethal (?) make your characters bypass displacement/blur/mirror image, etc...

but against fey? Cold Iron!

They generally have low Fort, so take advantage of that if you can.

As for the tricksters specifically, though: go turn based and use Ice Storm or Volcanic Storm. Even if they're invisible, you'll see the spell animation around where they are, then target those areas with more spells. You have time to kill them while they're spending time casting Invisibility or whatever. You should be able to kill them all without any of their offensive spells going off. And if they do, have Unbreakable Heart on 1-2 characters as a backup.

And the Lady of Shallows: she's optional and you may have an easier time going back later. But keep everyone in your group away from her and use summons if you have to (ideally undead, like people here are saying). It's not necessarily supposed to be an easy fight, so it may take some time to get her down. I usually use a lot of spells from a relatively safe distance.

You're thinking Unbreakable Heart, which is also available to bards, inquisitors, and paladins. +4 morale bonus to saves against mind-affecting effects fueled by negative emotions - think crushing despair, rage or fear - as well as confusion and other similar effects that could cause the victim to turn against the party.

Thanks all.. I get very overwhelmed with all the spells. So many of them seem to be the same thing, and I end up forgetting what most of them are, within minutes of reading the explanation.

But yeah, these particular ones also had an aura, that was just like a Bards 4th aura, that mesmorises all in a 30 foot radius. Ontop of that, they just spam Laughter, dominate, etc.I didnt realize Lady of Shallow was supposed to be for later, so I will come back.

The tricksters confuse me, as i broke down and watched some walk throughs, and the two I watched, didnt go anywhere near the way mine did. When I hit the initial Shambling mound, the entire map comes running at me. ( I think its 3 mounds, a hydra, and 3 fey tricksters) But in the walkthrough, they were able to pull one at a time, and walk freely through the map. They never even had one Fey on their screen after all said and done, let alone three.

Alright, Ive just tried three more times. As soon as I attack the first Shambling mound, 3 Nixie Pranksters begin buffing themselves, after opening with Confusion, which confuses my entire party. They Confuse, Laughter, and Haste, and just watch as my team kill each other. Since there are 3 Nixies, and they are off screen, I have absolutely no way of dealing with them. WTH do I Pre buff to stop confusion!? Unbreakable Heart I only have 1 character with. This is driving me insane! I cant believe this can be THIS difficult! Im already playing on stupid easy settings.

1) Just go there after few lvls.
2) You can increase save throws (will) other ways.
For example increase your wisdom( and will) with Owl Wisdom spell
Some other spells and auras that give +saves (Just watch all your spells. Only different type of bonuses can stack: Bonus (Morale) Bonus (Sacred) Bonus (Luck)...
Community Domain and its 8 lvl spell that gives +saves +AC +AB
3) Split your party and spam tons of skeletons

I just beat it.. Summoned a bunch of crap, and just face tanked all the stuff. That fight was beyond annoying. Im already Lvl 10. I relaly dont think I should be putting this one off any lionger. The Lady of Shallow, I did put off.. But this was just a trash map, Dappled Quagmire.

And Thank you. I didnt know those other stats aided Will saves (Luck, Morale, etc)

And Thanks for all the help. I think casting Unbreakable Heart on 2 characters really made the difference. It is very appreciated, even if my frustration doesnt really show it.

Thanks everyone

Read some more about buff stacking in PK. It is not simple but really useful info, You should understand wich buff can stack and wich cant
Becouse PK is pretty much all about stacking buff after buff.

I dont remember having any difficulty there. Use extended communal See invisibility and Turn based mode. Cast Volcanic Storm and\or all the slow thing you want. Cripple them one by one with ranged. They should never have time to reach range for casting. Try to kill them quickly with spell like 2 quicken fireball.

As I said, there was no "one by one". As soon as I engage the first Shambling mound, two more, a hydra, and three nixie Tricksters attack. The three Nixies start throwing CC from off screen.. not from invisibility, but off screen.. I cant get past the 2 Shambling mounds, and Hydra, to engage the three Nixies.

Regardless, I got past it. But I dont have any of the spells you mentioned. I personally find TB mode to be very poor in this game.

TB it based on DnD pnp so you need to know the base. It have thing like swift action and 5 foot step who are not negligible. It the best DnD turn Based computer game I played yet.
I got beat often in real time so maybe I will have been beat there either if I didnt used Tb mode. CC in this game are hard to counter.

They are not staying together.

Disagree. TB is good for some combos like quicken true strike + beam or something like that.

P.S learn to not listen and ignore guys like crazyboule.

What I said wrong lol:steamhappy: Maybe you are not to fast so I will re-explain it one time just for you.

He asked how to deal with fey in Dire Marches. I didnt have any problem in DireMarches. My answer was not just about that single particular encounter with the Lady who's I really dont replace.. I didnt read all the post I was answering to the main topic. Against invisible creature like fey using communal see invisibility help or true seeing it better. Volcanic storm with some quicken spell like fireball. Hit them 1st Kill them first. It what I do. That all. But I play Tb so it not playing the same.

Anyway you probably the one negative guy who need to be ignore.
