Tristian romance (bug) (spoilers ahead)

Hi guys, hope this message get read by a dev...
My romance with Tristian is bugged. I started the game as usual, and once trying to romance him, I found out that no dialogues were coming up during act 2 (trolls) or act 3 (blooming). I had his quest, tho, and waited a bit longer after that to see if I could have new lines but nothing...

So I tried to "repair" this bug by downloading "Bag of tricks" and fixing the value. At this point, I saw that Tristian was blocked at 0 everywhere. That's when I started to think about the bug. Cause I already picked romance dialogues at the beginning with him, so it made no sense at all. I put... I think it was 29 at the begging, and I had 2 new lines after that, during two rests. So I thought it was fixed. But the value didn't change, so I panicked and put 99.

Had another rest, with another line from Tristian (the book one) and I thought everything was good.

Now I just started act 4 (varnhold) but right after receiving the letter... nothing popped. No scene, nothing with Tristian. But I know that he's supposed to break up at the beginning.

So... yeah. I'm kinda f**ked now. Please, guys, help me on this one.
I don't want to start everything again... especially if this means probably getting a bug again.

That's not a bug, Tristan needs certain behavior and you should take it with you very often.
If your behavior is wrong then he does not get involved in anything.

To be clear you probably screwed it up. He doesn't like ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ in heat

I am playing a female Loyal Good, and always took Tristian with me - actually, I even did the prologue with him instead of Jaethal. So I really think it was a bug. x)

I had this same issue, I am also using the mod and the "breakup" scene with Tristian wasn't happening despite being almost at the end of Chapter 4

What I found was, the solution was the high romance value. I had it above 60 (at 100 actually), because of this I think the game was confused thinking that I was past the romance scene and up to the "wanting to be alone" end of the romance ;)

So what I did was change the romance value and the maximum back down to 60 and the "breakup" conversation happened as soon as I entered the town square.

Or just put the value to 60 and leave the other options to 0 ?

It should work as normal for now on. Keep showing interest in him, go after him first instead of Amiri in Betrayer's Flight (super important!!!), and forgive him (hold him close) <3 even after everything he has done.

You can still get the best outcome for The Twice-Born Warlord if you are quick and go there straight afterwards. I got to her in about 4 days and still had the best outcome (I was playing on easy so not sure if that influenced anything)

If memory serves, the romance value should be at 65 after Betrayer's Flight in which he will approach you in the throne room to "give us another chance" just before your Coronation scene in which of course you have to say yes to continue the romance :)

I read somewhere that I should take Tristian for Jaethal's last quest, and Jaethal for Tristian's last quest... is that "betrayer's flight" or is there another one ?

I never took Jaethal to Tristians last quest (Saving Grace) it makes no difference. Without spoiling what happens just keep doing Neutral Good outcomes and tell Tristian to stay with you (do not have romance at 100, via the mod at this point, you wont be able to do the romance conversation option if it is at 100).

If you get him to stay as a mortal, then later, you can ask him to marry you, after you spend the night together <3

As far as Tristian for Jaethal's last quest (Reveal My Destiny), then yes; most sources say you should. I take him everywhere regardless :p

To get Jaethal's best ending you need to do the following steps thought all her quests (source reddit);

Don't raise the elven girl and old priestess as the undead and tell her that Enneo was wrong and a fanatic; don't let her sacrifice her daughter in her last quest, instead make Jaethal explode by Urgathoa's wrath, Neutral Good option (she'll come back alive later). Also, just to be extra sure, take Tristian to her last quest.

However, I tried to do Amiri's quest (and saving the army) in like 4 or 5 days, and it never works. Amiri's girlfriend and Dugath are still alive (at least when Amiri tries to sneak in) but Jamandi's army is dead (and Kaessil if I'm not mistaken). So...

Unless it's like 3 days, or doing something else, I don't know how I'm supposed to handle that :(

No, thats fine. Jamandi's army is defeated but as long as you save Amiri's friend and Dugath then you get the best outcome. Weird I know. She doesn't even mention Kassil's death at all She will be pissed off at first but you can still make peace between Jamandi and Surtova, or you can choose either side to support. Up to you :)

Thank you for everything, really ! I still feel like having to chose between saving Jamandi's army/Kassil and the romance is complete garbage :( but everything is working like you said.
