Guide: Roll Back to 2.0.8
Since Gog does not allow you to roll back I figured out a way to do it on Steam. If you are having trouble with mods, deleted saves, or just miss the nostalgia like me, then try this.

I used this guide, but I did some things differently. So if you get stuck on one of the steps you can refer to this video, but I will write this assuming you are not watching it because I did not follow this persons steps. This is for windows 10 and I am assuming you already have the game installed through Steam

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=44HBxzC_RTg

1) Download and install .NET Core 3.1 https://dotnet.microsoft.com/download/dotnet-core

2) Download and extract to folder DepotDownloader 2.3.6 https://github.com/SteamRE/DepotDownloader/releases

3) Go in the depotdownloader folder, click on windows explorer, type CMD then hit enter

4) copy and paste this into the command prompt:

dotnet DepotDownloader.dll -app 640820 -depot 640821 -manifest 8420783136333003197 -username **** -password ****

Anywhere that you see **** is where you would type your info in. First is your Steam account name (not user name) and the second is your password

5) complete 2 step verification and type it in the command prompt

6) wait literally forever

7) once the download is complete, go into the depo downloads folder from step 2 and navigate the directories until you find the folder with the pathfinder kingmaker.exe in it.

8) copy everything except the depo downloader folder from that directory

9) go to steam/steamapp/common/pathfinder kingmaker or wherever you have your game downloaded. Completely delete everything out of that folder.

10) paste everything you copied into that folder

11) go to Steam and press play

Make sure to disable auto updates from Steam. Right click the game, go to properties, then update, and tell Steam not to do it. I think Steam will give you some trouble if Owlcat decides to update the game again. If steam does not allow you to click play without updating then go to:
Steam/Steamapps/appmanifest_640820.acf
Right click on that and hit edit with notepad++ or whatever you use/don't use. Change StateFlags to 4. If that seems like too muchwork you can probably play in offline mode.

Steam should then allow you to play.

Hope this helps.

2.0.8 is the enhanced edition. I probably should have mentioned that in my OP. It came out in Jan 2020 I believe. But yes, I think you can do that if you want to. go to steamdb.com and look up the manifest numbers you need for the patch.

Ya, I can't imagine why anyone would want to go back to alpha. You should be able to go back to any patch you want though. I only tested 2.0.8 though because this is the one I will be keeping the game at

The only mods I had problems with (without rolling back) were ones that haven't been updated in several months or years in some cases. One major problem I had was solved by removing an alternate companion portrait mod. Unfortunately I couldn't make fumi's codex work and that had to go.

Usefull guide, you can use steamdb to find the manifest ID of any other version of the game you want to download if you don't want 2.0.8.

I think you can actually skip step 7 through 11 and just click pathfinder.exe in the directory of the game, works for me at least and as an added bonus it won't auto-update that way.

Ya that works too. I personally like to have the green button to click in Steam. I am glad you got it to work though. I do not know if your Steam hours will track after doing it the way you did it as well. Let me know if they do.

If got a pinned thread on all updated mods. Post your problems in there or on discord :)

That was an issue I heard about on these forums before. I believe it had something to do with custom portraits? do you use any?

I just tried the DLC and they all worked for me.

I am actually having one issue though where I am unable to play the game without clicking on the update option in Steam. I was able to get the game to run by going into the app manifest and changing "StateFlags" to "4", then restarting Steam in offline mode. This is not an elegant enough solution for my taste though so I will try to figure out a way to do it better. Steam seems to be changing the StateFlags number automatically when in online mode.

Yes, I just tried it and the DLC worked on my PC. You are experiencing a separate issue I believe. There were ways to fix it. Check online for people who fixed it in the past. I know I have seen people fix it on this forum.

I'm gonna try this when I can to see if it fixes the bug with my keyboard, which is making the game unplayable for me on my desktop pc. Thank you!

Ive just tested and it doesnt show the dlc even for new games so it is an issue with the dlc and the download, i havent moved the files to the steam folder yet tho, is that the problem?
