Why Scroll Savant?
Why do I see so many people saying scroll savant is the best wizard or Arcane Blaster is it a meme?

Many people are talking trash in this forum (insert me included jokes here), so I wouldn't take it seriously. "Suboptimal Builds" as they get called are sometimes better and more fun, latter being the important part. You don't acutally have to watch out for your build, except if you if you play on hard or unfair, with only the latter being more or less minmaxed early out, but later in the game even on unfair you aren't really forced to minmax at all, just the tutorial/first/second chapter are usually issues.
Just do what you consider worth trying/potentially fun and don't focus on the "good build" talk here too much. ^^
EDIT: To prevent at least partially the hate flood coming because of this comment, no I didn't use both builds and especially not like they recommend them. So just do a "I talk trash joke" instead. Thanks

Both savant and bomber are good for the exact same reason. They get extra thing to do in combat instead of expending slots while paying almost nothing for it. Technically, best wizard is Glutton7/Blight druid3/Theurge10, but that's a level20 merc hire, not something you play through the game with.
Edit. Also there's a fact that being a bad sorc is not exactly a great career plan and that's what most wizards will end up as. Those listed at least have a selling point to consider.

I guess it needs to be mentioned that sylvan sorc is a better caster in most every way possible when actual playthrough is concerned and draconic sorc/AT is a better "I WIN" button late-game.

I like arcane bomber the most out of the spellcasters because it is basically a full wizard with an incredible auto attack that can rival mele in some very common situations (lots of enemies clustered). Even better than mele sometimes for single target because you can auto attack with a ranged touch attack.

as good as melee is a big stretch. Bomber will never do 1200+ damage per round with his bombs. Hell, decent melee does about 200 damage per round at level 9 already.

It depends on the enemy. Some enemies may have high AC and low touch AC, some enemies may have no elemental DR and less then 1200 health as well as grouped up in tight spaces. They are not always better but there are many times that an arcane bomber can out single target DPS a mele. A good example would be the final boss in Varnholds lot. There were others, but I believe that was my largest "Thank god I am an arcane bomber" moments.

It dies in 1 turn. Sometimes 2. What are you talking about? Bombers DPS is pretty garbage. It's just better than throwing cantrips and some such.

Sorry but what is a Glutton?
jsaving Sep 6, 2020 @ 5:57pm
A Thassilonian specialist wizard whose opposition schools are abjuration and enchantment. The Thassilonian specialists are named after the seven deadly sins and that one is called the glutton.

Thanks so if I am reading this correctly I can make a blaster but why would I if I can get 200 damage a round with melee

Just a comment, have any of you played since launch? This game is insanely good, and I see so many people complaining, it makes me wonder if you have seen the changes that the DEVs have implemented. I am not trying to be a fan boy, but they actually have rocked it all... get over minor complaints and play the game. It is great!

I'm playing right now and I think InEffect has written the most guides for the game on this forum.... its a okay game but it still runs like trash on all of my power rigs and console is dont get me started. Also the quality feels very lacking and is keeping me from really enjoying the game. also balance seems a bit not the most well thought out and the coding not very... convenient.

all that said i can see why people enjoy this game and why they are excited for the next project too.

it is great. Alternate loadouts will change outcomes, but base game with a few mods for quality of life is all I have ever needed to love this. I am an original table top gamer, which means I have a certain outlook dated 1976, but still this is awesomely great

I did. It's great that they aimed at the biggest and best game they could make, even if that costs some bugs. That being said, if we toss out the critical path/quest bugs and leave just stuff that is implemented wrong or that doesn't work at all the list of fixes wouldn't be THAT impressive. But yeah, it's not abandonware, so kudos for that.

4 schools are not a problem cause most of the spells are garbage anyways. At least for the wizard, that is. Just pick evocation, enchantment, divination, abjuration. Bam. Nothing of value lost. At least he isn't a bad sorc, so that's an improvement over tassilonian, unless you get one as a level20 theurge merc.
