20Gb update

Donnow what happened with the game but all the sudden I had a 20Gb update. I bet this is the entire game and with my connection it takes forever. What the heck happened?

Note: I also saw that there is an incoming definite edition. Should I then stop downloading as I might expect another 20Gb downlaod?

Are you writing from the recent past? The game received definitive edition a couple of weeks ago, and that's what 20 GB download was about. It does still receive updates often, but they are tiny, so there's no need to wait.

Ok. But unfortunately I cannot load everything in one shot so I have to stop after like 4h and when I restart later, everything is back to zero. Was like that for a week. I don't seem to be able to load the game... at all.

No matter how an update is big, there always will be someone who writes a thread about it's huge size.

Yeah it's 20GB, but it's not 20GB of new data. You;re essentially redownloading some of the bigger files. If you were to select properties of your game folder and take note of it's size, then come back after the update, you;d find that it's larger, but not 20Gb larger.

something to do with how Unity updates things, not sure about specifics.

You could probably consider the fact that the update is actually big, and not everyone is fortunate enough to live in a region where fast internet is available, but whatever.

OP, you downloaded the game somehow, if for some reason the update isn't working, just reinstall the whole game.

I also would like to know if another big download is coming in the near future. This has paused me in P:K for a couple of months, so I'd hate to dedicate the time/resources to the download, then have to do it again.

I see it is downloading in [..]\Steam\SteamApps\downloading\640820\Kingmaker_Data
I wonder if the issue is not related to the fact I was on a beta before and then things started derailing when I switched back to the main official release. Everyday I download like 10Gb and then loop back to start the day after.
