Magical Prison / Farnirras Quest - trigger?

I've been to the bottom of the Lonely Barrow and activated the "magnifying glass." I get some dialog about finding the key between two rivers. However, the "Magical Prison" quest isn't triggering? Am I doing something wrong? Too early? Do I just need to wait until a certain time? I'm in the Varnhold Vanishing Chapter.

I *think* that quest triggers elsewhere, actually. There's a well in your capital (either when upgraded to a town or city) that will be explorable at some point. I almost missed it myself. I think that's when the quest comes online.

BenSt88 is right. You unlock it by exploring the world map and killing the monsters you meet. When you've killed enough of them, you'll get an event in Kingdom Management about a well in the capital seeming strange. I don't remember the exact details, but you can't assign an advisor to it. A day or so later, the event will auto-complete with a message that people are still talking about the well. When that happens, take a walk around the main square and find the well with a door symbol, then click on it to enter. THEN the quest will officially start. It is fairly late in the game.
