Turn-Based-Mode Button
As dlux explained in his topic, I too would like to have an answer as to the possibility of editing the UI so the button doesn't keep hindering me. However, I do not understand why a moderator of these topics decided to just close this discussion within 20 minutes, despite no reply. An answer to either of these would be gladly appreciated

I'm sure someone could mod it out, but I doubt something so easy to ignore will be addressed by developers, especially when they have plenty of actual issues to resolve.

Thanks for making a new topic. I guess my reasoning/explanation was just a bit too harsh, but it isn't the developers fault, that is just the nature of turn-based combat.

Anyway, back to topic: All I really want is an option to completely turn off turn-based mode and remove the toggle button.
I believe it's not easy editing the UI for modders.

You mean your rant?

I understand why it was closed myself. Although you are right. This is a good question to ask. They said that this game (or the sequel) will be first and foremost a RTwP game. However, we have a UI button to make it a turn based game. That says the game is meant to be played with both.

I would like to know which one is it? Is the game meant to be a RTwP game first and a turn based game second, or are we going to have a UI element in the game to swap between turn based and RTwP? It was advertised that the sequel was going to be designed with RTwP in mind. Yet there is UI real estate in the game that contradicts this advertisement.

Call it what you want, but I thought it was pretty harmless in comparison to yawn-based purists calling this game "pure unplayable trash" because it didn't have turn-based combat.

Anyway, I had recently bought all of the DLC and was planning a new complete playthrough, only to be confronted with all of this yawn-based stuff, that I have no intention of using. Especially not after testing it. That certainly isn't a particularly pleasing experience. :)

I'd appreciate a check-box in the options screen to remove the TB button so it doesn't inadvertently get pressed on occasion. Not a big deal but would be nice to have.

It would also be nice to have a ceasefire on these relentless anti-TB posts by the same 3 people.

It would also be nice to have an unadulterated RTwP DnD game like we had a couple months ago. If people can ask for It, people can also ask for less of it.

It would also be nice if the game would be back at normal speed as it was before, as according to the game 6 seconds still take over 15, but oh well, we cant get all what we want, even if we already had it before, now can we?

Edit: Also, since when is this an "Anti-TB post"? I am only asking if anyone knows a way to get rid of the button so I dont keep accidentily hitting it, because its right next to the stop character button, and do you wanna know what happens if you hit it instead of the stop button? If you answered "You get displaced" or "You die because the order and delay of animation matters" you are correct and earn your right to be annoyed of this joke.

OK. I'll call it a rant :)

You wouldn't think it would be too hard for owlcat to remove it, especially when they have a tick box to disable it, which it pointless as why have a button to disable it, if it doesn't change anything if you never enable it?

Classic owlcat.

I've never seen a post asking for it since I started playing it. In any case, asking for something is not the same as asking for something to be removed.

@ShadowninjaHD - did I say you were one of the three? Your request is perfectly reasonable. You might want to look at your mouse settings though, if you're constantly clicking on the wrong icon.
Vergessenen Aug 27, 2020 @ 2:53am
Since the release of the game at least one thread per week has appeared with the requirement of a turn-based mode.
Now it is eleased. And now almost every day there are threads with a request to remove it. It's so funny and ridiculous.
I can understand TB fans, because before the release of the TB mod they did not have the opportunity to play their favorite mode. But you RTvP fans surprise me. You just need not to press a button to play your favorite mode. And you require the developers to make changes to the whole game, to the UI because it's HARD for you NOT TO PRESS a button.

It is so funny.

The issue with that is simple: It was there before, so asking for "less" is actually asking for the version before TB, which was perfectly stable and mostly glitchless. And asking for the working version of the game is hardly asking for less, not everyone has the patience to play the game while it is suddenly in slow motion and a round of 6 seconds takes over 15. And it would be nice if it would only be this case in combat, but sadly, thats always in effect, even in cutscenes. There were TONS of "angry" players that kept ranting over how a TB mode should be added or that the game should be pure TB (Despite their profiles saying: Played for over 200 hours), so being mad right now as their wish was granted but the game got nearly unplayable in return due to the bugs is perfectly understandable, especially when you even take a look at how the TB fanatics respond if they see even the slightest complain about this "perfect version" (yes, that is literally what one of them said).

You didn't directly say it, thats true. But I created multiple discussion topics since the update that complained about various bugs and other things that werent working properly anymore. And a lot of TB fanatics saw it as a "personal attack at their flawless game", insulting the hell out of everyone they saw not praising the update. So I hope you can kinda understand that I get a little angry at even the slightest hint of such a person. And the fact you wrote "ceasefire of the Anti-TB posts" under this post sounds very much like a direct reference.

This has absolutely nothing to do with mouse settings. Just with unpractical placement of a button that has a hotkey for it by default anyways. I can guarantee you that I am not the only one who missclicks from time to time and having to reset an unfair difficulty battle 9 rounds in, just because that button is there, is VERY annoying.
Edit: Spelling Errors

The turn based icon on the UI represents a shift in how the game is meant to be played. That is exactly what the developers said they would not do. It makes the game far less appealing. The last thing many people wanted was a half baked implementation of both. They said that wouldn't happen and now we have evidence that suggests otherwise. Imagine if Dark Souls had a UI button to change the difficulty. I would never purchase another one.
