Too many Events!!!
I am in the middle of chapter 4. I cant do rank ups. I get hit with 11 (!?!?!) Events if I do a Rank up. There is just too much going on! I sure as heck cant do ANY curses since I need my advisors for all these EVIL Problm Events.

Does the game Ever Slow Down ?!?

o_O

It should be 11 events in a month.
A really "bad" month that is...

I also get Problem Events, which will expires in 11 days, when my only advisor that can do it is on another problem even and wont be available for another 26 days.

Jeez, thanks game. Thanks devs. Nice way to start destroying my kingdom.

I get a ton of events, more than 11 a month for certain now.

Are you rushing the main quest of the chapter? Because getting flooded with events generally means you haven't finished it by the time you should have.
Galactic Origins Dec 13, 2018 @ 4:18pm
no, I dont rush. Only a few months into this chapter. I did 2 rank ups and some adventuring is all.

Well, Time is indeed a Problem, bcs it holds itself over your head like a gigantic axe.
- First thing is: the Naming of the Months. you can learn the Names of golarions Month's, but as a beginner, you have no idear how long it is from the third Namashan to the 10th Arodus (or whatever it calles. have not the names in my head rn... see?!) So the Events Time-restriction like "available until 'then'" isnt helpfull, bcs you have no idea, hof long it is from "now" to "then"!
- Second thing is, in one Word: Curse. its to quick. just way , waaay to quick! The time from the penultimate to the last curse was nearly enough , if it woud be the time from the first curse to the second instead. this Barony needs some chill , so i can enjoy the game and solve all problem-events. but with this timer, Ppl think, they have to rush - what is a shame, because Kingmaker is a great game if you take some time (joke's on me) to play and learn it.

but to give an answere to the main-question: No. the Game does not slow down. My Tipp is: Turn off the barony-menagement - especialy if you are in your first run. Learn the game, see the locations, find monsters and Treasures and forgett this pain in the ass untill you have the knowlage you need, to give it a try later and enjoy it. (joke's on me again!)

That's probably the problem. I'm not as far as you - currently fighting my way through chapter 3 - but I noticed a very big difference between the moment I dealt with the trolls/the fey attacks ASAP, earning myself very comfortable months in-between/afterward, and that time where I sat on my ass when the barony next door disappeared, after which I got assaulted non-stop by undead cyclop events.

If the transition between 3 and 4 is the same as between 2 and 3, your rest time was actually BEFORE chapter 4 started, so if you already let a few months go by since it started... well, grit your teeth, I suppose.

Eeeh. I actually like it, I think. Mind you, I can see it getting out of hand - as I stated, I'm still mid-game, so maybe the challenge will become a lot more frustrating later on - but right now, I think it hits that sweet spot where it is challenging, yet not unmanageable.

Also, I kind of like the fact it means you really have to plan and time your trecks outside your lands. But maybe I'm just a masochist.
You eventually learn that when the main quest comes up, do it asap. The kingdom management is suppossed to simulate the main threat to your kingdom as too much for your advisors. If youre advisor's can't handle it, its time to roll up your sleeves and do it yourself.

This is my experience (Challenging mode with normal enemies) (SPOILER)

Well in Chapter 2 I avoided at all main quest, exploring Dire Narlmarches, South/North Narlmarches, Kamelands and a part of Varnhold. I took note on a paper of dates when events ended so to be at the capital and assign advisors to new events. I also claimed Outskirt asap, and, if I remember well, Kamelands. I did some ranking up also. I kept on doing this until the same troll events started to popup twice in a month. Then I solved the problem in few days, because exploring, doing some quests (all npc quests, Bokken quest etc) etc gave me XP/levels and magic items/money.

In Chapter 3 I explored west Kemelands, claimed South Narlmarches, North Marlmarches, and Silverstep waiting to follow main quest until a problem card in kingdom management (not to be solved, it was just a warning) appeared saying I had two month before the kingdom crumbled. I did all quests I found (artisans, companions etc), I ranked up quite a lot in chapter 3, unlocking all advisors but the minister. After unblocking them i started projects and overall curse researches (now I have only one left)
I waited a bit too much btw (my fault, because it's difficult a kingdom falls in one night) and I got some bad stat reduction without having the possibility to do anything (Not complaining,I deserved it fully XD).
Then I moved quickly to main quest, and I completed it in a few days for the same reason as for troll problems (even if doing the womb without resting but once was a bit hard)

In Chapter 4, without having much to explore but the east (where main plot was taking me) and wanting to follow the same plan I ranked up a lot, doing companions quests meanwhile and I unlocked the minister. Then I moved to east, completed the previous blocked exploration of East Silverstep, and started to explore Tor of Levenies. A similar warning cards has just appeared, and I'm moving on main quest now. Hope to end it soon and to have the possibility to fully explore the east, but I don't know if I will have the time for it. After claiming Varnhold with a last ranking up I should be able to claim Dunsward, and with little more time the Tor. Let's see if the method works also in this chapter.

problems popping up at the end of the month no longer fail at the end of the current month, but instead the next. This calendar was helpful to me managing my kingdom:

Golarion Month Gregorian Month Days in Month
Abadius (ah-BAY-dee-us) (January) 31 days
Calistril (KAHL-izz-trihl) (February) 28 days
Pharast (fah-RAHST) (March) 31 days
Gozran (GOHZ-ran) (April) 30 days
Desnus (DEZ-nuhs) (May) 31 days
Sarenith (sa-REHN-ihth) (June) 30 days
Erastus (eh-RAS-tuhs) (July) 31 days
Arodus (AIR-oh-duhs) (August) 31 days
Rova (ROH-va) (September) 30 days
Lamashan (lah-MAHSH-ahn) (October) 31 days
Neth (NEHTH) (November) 30 days
Kuthona (koo-THOH-nah) (December) 31 days

.... i do not understand you guys. The number of the month is written behind it. like Gozran (IV). Its roman letters, but its still a 4 (four). And the same is written on the top. I never had to think about some month, i just checked the number and knew, where i am....

And be happy about this amount of events. you have a lot of advisors, which are often not occupied. they should be able to deal with the events. Some patches before, they even had only the same month to deal with events. This was way harder. Now you have plenty of time.

The events are really not well made....
Just like the OP I also get multiple events at the same time, and you have to decide which event you want to fulfill, because you can't get them all.
At the same time, when you send certain advisors (mainly the religion one) on longer events/projects, you're never able to actually fulfill most events, because they all "appear" when you never have time for them.
Either because the advisors won't come back soon enough, or because you just did one of those 14-day projects and don't have enough time left in this month....

If I close my eyes does the world stop existing?

Oh Groetus, the end is near!

The events add absolutely nothing of value to the game, and are a detriment to successfully completing it.
