Feats help please. Also any metamagic feats worth taking?
Im playing an Ecclesomething. Good (main), animal (secondary)

Got 2 feats on evocation and 2 feats on spell penetration... and one on persuasive :P

I'm thinking either
-some elemental damage feat. Fire or electricity? Which is better given the spell list? The eight level bolts give stun and the firestorm gives extra damage. I think area stuns are better but on the whole there are more fire spells.
-point blank shot, followed by precise shot. I dont see many high level evocation spells being range touch so... would it be a waste?
-some cool metamagic feat? Are they worth it? Ive never used them even in pnp, the level increase seems daunting.
-just upgrade my dog

You activate the rod through the ability menu, cast the spell normally and it works. Unfortunately, you can only activate one rod (no empowered, quickened, maximized Horrid Wilting for you!). But still these rods are amazing.

I wonder if you could get the feat for quicken then have a maximize rod. Would those 2 work together?

I stand by my opinion that Heighten Spell is a good choice. It's really useful for debuff spells like Slow that are low level.

Probably, yes... but metafeats are well i woudnt get one maybe at the end... but at the end i would just go with spell pen.... witch is useless in the beginning of the game... make sure get Boon companion... if your going with animal domain...

Heighten is a simple choice to shuffle your spell selection and multiple good spells. Game doesn't follow the rule of only highest level spell affecting enemies so that's where 12 Blade Barriers thing comes into play. This is especially useful for schools which don't really have any good spells on particular levels, so you just Heighten those good lower level spells.

Other Feats are useful only if you know what you are doing, because there are a lot of rods in the game. For example, Extend is good to multiply things like Mirror Image and also make it last a bit longer. Empower is good if you take something like Spell Specialization and spam that one best spell, etc.

Extend is great to get by lvl 5 on every caster aside from pure blaster sorc that never buff and any offensive caster will want empower by 13 and maximize by 15.

You can use rods for higher lvl buffs like greater heroism but having every single min/lvl buffs extended mean you will never have to rest mid dungeon and rebuff again which is an awesome QoL improvement you can set up for yourself.

Feats to get Spell focus necromancy x2
Spell specialization
Conjurationx1 augment sums super sums if you are going too summon.
The you can take extra channeling and selective channeling if you are going to channel. needs charisma 14 good if you are Sun and Glory domains or healing...
Evocation focus and elemental if you are going elemental domains sun fire weather...
It all depends on your build.. right now the biggest problem is domains, they are bugged.

I find Extend useful, particularly at higher levels it lets you stretch those round per level spells to two or three encounters. It can also let you double up on casts for some spells. For a Cleric it's good for Divine Favor which has such a short duration it can run out during an encounter if it isn't extended.

I've never found Maximize to be worth it, mathematically it just isn't worth the level increase over Empower. E.g. if you have a 10D6 damage spell, on average it will do: 35 normal, 52.5 empowered, 60 maximized. So empowered gives you a 50% damage increase and maximized gives you a 71% damage increase. If you're using a 10D4 damage spell, on average it will do: 25 normal, 37.5 empowered, 40 maximized. So empowered gives you a 50% damage increase and maximized gives you a 60% damage increase. Basically, the smaller the range of the dice the worse maximized does. Since this game is mostly using D4 and D6s for spell damage, if you're taking one damage improving metamagic, take Empower.

Hieghten is useful for increasing DCs and managing spell levels.

Quicken would be useful if there was PvP in this game, or there was an effective mage AI. Currently it just isn't useful. If you want to toss two spells a round, make a dual kukri EK.

I wouldn't pick it too early though. Maybe after I got access to lv 6 or 7 spells.

Yea but why get them if You can just get rods? saves you spell slots... for higher spells Heighten is fine thats about it...and You need Feat slots for other Feats...

Like what? there are no crafting feat so no you wont lack feat slots one bit... even after taking focus for 2 schools and both spell pen.

I mean dont use them if you dont want to, youre just making the game harder and more tedious for yourself...

You do know his making a cleric right? so thats 5 feats gone vs a wizard 4 vs sorcerer 1 more if his not human ....so his left with 10 feats... 2xfocus per school thats 4 for two schools +pet its 5... two more for range spells to hit anything...so thats 7 now you get spell pen 9 and you got one left and thats Heighten at best.. and there is ♥♥♥♥ loads off things he can take before he even gets to other metafeats... and you can get rodS!!?!?!!

Well... there's also that persuasive feat I got for rp... I am indeed a bit tight on feats. Hence the post on which are the best to pick.

I'm actually wondering ig Nobleman's Bow that gives you the Point Blank Shot and Precice shot would have those apply to my range touch spells or only to attacks made with the bow...
