Missing alliance options at Coronation
Okay, I've already back-tracked and replayed this several times (with restarting the game) and it's not helping. In the Coronation sequence, I'm supposed to get a choice who to ally with: the Aldori, the Surtovas, stay neutral, or distance myself. The only two options I get are to stay neutral or distance myself. What did I need to do, at which point in the story, to get the option to ally with the Aldori's? I really want Kassil back as my general and this seems to be the only way to get him back, but I can't do it since I don't have the dialogue option. I've replayed this part of the game (Vordekai through Coronation) about three times now and I'm getting really sick of redoing the same part over and over trying to get all the hidden mechanics the way I want them. Can anyone help?

Did you complete Hour of Rage first? That seems to be one of the requirements to get Kassil back.

List of choices made thus far:

Vordekai's Tomb: had Tristian on team (he destroyed Eye then portaled out), saved Maegar Varn, destroyed Vordekai

Hour of Rage: did quest first (early version), Aldori survived all fights, in Gwart's Coup section chose neutral option between Aldori and Surtova (should I have supported Aldori at this point?)

Betrayer's Flight: forgave Tristian (not giving up my best healer) (apparently you can only get Shandra Mervey back if you execute Tristian, is Kassil the same?)

Armag's Tomb: spared Armag, became blood-sibling, supported Armag as chief (does this annoy the Aldori?), took in barbarians who wished to leave tribe

Results:
My only Coronation options are:
-act as mediating power
-alliance is a formality

Any suggestions?

Huh , you should have the option to ally with the Aldori with those choices.

Not sure if this one matters, but what choice did you make for the Trouble With Taxes event?

Kill Tristan not because it will help but because he deserves it.

If that's the one with Oleg, I let him off paying taxes for the month and had Kassil write the Aldori to work out a compromise. They came back with letting Oleg stay in my jurisdiction but I had to repair the road, which I did.

Its beginning to look like a bug. I don't see anything that would deny you that choice.

Well rats. I wish the game gave you more options to get people back if you missed an event or chose poorly. Replaying a couple hours of the game to change things is kind of annoying.

Okay, I have a partial answer: I went back and replayed things starting with Vordekai's Tomb, making the same choices with this exception:

-Heart of Rage (early), Gwart's Coup section: I chose to ally with the Aldori.

With that, when I got to the coronation sequence, only Jamandi Aldori showed up and she gave me the option to ally with her. I now have Kassil back, so yay. In general I would have preferred a more neutral approach, buuuut I wanted Kassil, so yeah.
