Bartholomew death consequences??

I just passed the encounter where the trolls attack Bartholomew. After a few tries I was able to save him..... but I really don't like the guy and want his headband of intelligence +4.
Is there any negative consequences of letting him die??
Are others headbands of intelligence +4 in this game or it is an unique item?

Nah. All you lost out on is him being an adviser.

I saved him and still didn't want him as an advisor. The headband is the better deal...even though its easy to get them elsewhere. Its not a unique item.

You do lose him as a vendor however. Which isn't terribly critical except for an alternate source for an item you might need for a quest. But there's another source for that too. So no real loss.

I like having Bartholomew purely for convenience. You can sell stuff to him within Throne Room, and that's a huge quality of life improvement for me. I also made sure to only sell to him, that way if I sold something by accident I'd know where to look. FYI He makes a horrible (albeit funny) advisor unless your alignment is evil.

You can already do that with Jhod so even that isn't very useful. The selling part that is.

Harrim is a better priest than Jhod tho. Bart also helps in Season.
