Which 2 handed weapon
So I've made a paladin he's all set up nice and I'm not sure what weapon class I want to run through. You've got the great sword an amazing all around 2h weapon, or I could go down the falchion path for the crits or i could just be a big smashy smash stereo typical paladin with an earth breaker. Any advice?

Doesn’t really matter too much. Any two handed will do. Great axe, great sword, and hammers are all good. The exotic 2 handed weapons will be harder to find good versions of, but you can always respec your character if needed.

If you're talking about the Weapon Focus line of feats, I'm not sure I'd bother. There are plenty of great 2H weapons, and no need to be locked into just one class. Also, you want at least 1 decent slashing weapon, and 1 decent bludgeoning weapon, for DR purposes.

As a paladin it's probably better to not focus on any weapon type in particular and buff the best two-handed you find with your divine bond ability.

Pick the one that you like the look/feel/action of best. Or just use whatever you happened upon that is better than the last one, your not a Fighter with a locked in focus to one particular weapon.

The answer is always vanquisher.

Which is a Greataxe.

2 very good 2h swords are from barbarians Dugath and Armag, but you will need to kill either/both in order to get their weapons .If I recall right the first is a greatsword and the other is a bastard sword ( like Amiri's weapon) Both of them have a drawback though, the one damages you as well, the other makes a constant willpower check otherwise it attacks an ally.

There are few two handed weapons that I find really impressive. There is a falcata with a 18-20(x3) critical ability (that you can double with feats) an estoc with the same range, and a greataxe which deals 10 extra damage every hit.

There are also plenty of late game +5 weapons which have holy, axiomatic, anti-living and what not damage. But they take to long to show up. The falcata shows up after Varnhold, and the greataxecan be obtained as soon as you get Dimension door.

Oddly enough, at 14th level, the best weapon I've come across is a +4 trident (1H) that tank Valerie uses called Horror's Teeth. Not infrequently something hit will fail its Will save and become frightened, and I can pummel away at it while it's fleeing. Nok-Nok in particular likes that part.

When going two-handed, I almost always build for one of these two because they are excellent weapons you are guaranteed to receive by mid-game.

Or at least it says so. In reality it does nothing. Ovinrbaane has no drawbacks.

Ranseurs are awesome in this game you get serpent prince a +3 acidic ranseur with improved crit ability super fast once you unlock the blabber mouth woman craftman
Tuidjy Jul 13, 2020 @ 6:15pm
Ranseur? The game has longspears, tridents, glaives, bardiches, and fauchards. No weapon is called a ranseur, although there are a few that could be described as such.

You seem to be talking about fauchards. and yes, there are a few really nice ones, the best of which is Mastery, which is absolutely amazing for a Strength based trip build. Unfortunately, it is hard to guarantee that you will get it early in the game, as it is crafswoman's masterpiece.

Two feats for a weapon that you may not get until very late in the game? I wouldn't recommend it.

You get three free respects so why not do both? Use an easily available weapon in the early game, and switch to fauchards when you get that weapon.
