i just have to ask, is there any bow that even competes with it before act 5? half the fun of looting is upgrading gear, but in my first playthrough I just had Ekun use it the whole game.

silly me, i hadn't actually recruited him til just before act 3, and didn't use him much before the end of act 4, so my second playthrough has just been a steam-roll comparetivly.

The mirror bow is an artisan item - i think its the masterwork of the bowmaker dude - probably the best bow in the game. Not sure when you can get it tho.

It fires 2 arrows per attack and the secondary shot gets either (half?) strength or sneak bonuses or both or something silly like that. Cant quite remember. The thing is pretty broken either way.

Yes but if you try to found a better one good luck, if you do not make the artisan quest it is probably the best bow for a long time. Too bad it is only 1+

I find Downfall, which I think you get by doing his quest, to be better than Devourer. You trade some damage on the upper end for +5 attack.

Just got it, and it's incredible for the level. But only +1 enhancement though. I assume you'd prefer a better hit chance weapon later on.

My take is it depends. And what it depends on is if you ramp your artisans soon enough. It's not impossible to get mirror not too long after coronation. And his quest bow is better too.
