Hand Crossbows?

Out of curiosity, is the Hand Crossbow even in the game?

i noticed that rogues proficiency can utilize hand crossbows, but for some reason i can't even find any data around them or for that matter the item itself so that i can see the items stats.

i'd imagine that it would have similar stats as the one in the rpg but i'm unsure if i should be trying to specialize my rogue for such an item simply because i am getting this impression it may not actually be in the game, and the text for Rogue proficiencies is more flavor text than actual.

any clarification would be most appreciated,
