Crafting ?
Is there much you can do in the way of crafting ? I personal love to be able to make my own gear and weapons in a game, if there is are you able to name the gear you create ? Or rename the gear you get ?

No, sorry, this feature didn't make it.
However, as a ruler, you get upgradeable royal artisans who do the crafting for you, so you do get a nice variety of gear.

Okay! Well i am glad you can still make a variety of gear through the royal artisans then ^_^ Are you able to rename or name gear ?

No, you can't.

Are there any details you can provide on crafting options?

Is it only unique items, or can we make less unique, but important gear that we might need? For example, if we are a greatsword user and want a frost weapon and haven’t yet found one, can we task the royal artisan to make it? Or to make an extra headband of charisma, for example?

Unpopular opinion but i think crafting sucks in RPGs, it detracts from the RPG gameplay when you spend time in crafting menus. I am happy you did not waste resources on this.

I don't think it's that unpopular opinion, depending on the game i don't like the crafting, some just make it overly complicated for no reason.

Crafting can be very important in Pathfinder. Some Adventure path, it's highly recommanded to have people able to craft magic items.
I don't have that much experience with D&D (except for CRPG), but in Pathfinder, like it or not, magic items are mandatory for your progress. The game expects PCs to have a certain number of items to boost their capacities (like +X weapons, or +X to saves etc ...) and the whole "game balance" (i hate that term in an rpg, sorry) is based on having such items.
Crafting enables you to be sure you'll have those items, but also will reduce the cost of aquiring magic items. If not, you have to go to the "magic item wallmart" ...

Note that my first games of Pathfinder, the whole idea of having "magic items" shops "everywhere" really went against my views on the setting. But then, when you remove access to magic items to your players, some content becomes very challenging, but more importantly, all non spell casting classes becomes even more irrelevant (for exemple, your fighter type needs to have a way to fly or to see invis with magic items. Remove those items, and the character becomes completly irrelevant in lots of fights)

On a side note, i'd like to know how the Royal Artisan works ... do you get to order the crafting of magic items ? how does it work ? does he craft a random item ? or do you get to choose the exact items ?

Yes in pathfinder you need absolutly magic item/items made of special material, if not you can not even hurt stronger enemies with your attacks, because the have 15 points dmg reduction for example which you can only break with magic for example like older dragons. In the NSC creation it is an amount of Gold which a character of a specific lv should have in magic item equivalent.
By the way i hope you can at least decide which kind of stuff you get.

Actually, bypassing damage reduction is possible without special materials : Magic needs a +1 weapon, cold iron/silver needs a +3, Adamantium needs a +4 and finally alignment DR needs a +5.
Note that you need an actual enhancement bonus of +X to beat the damage reduction. For exemple, a +1 holy vorpal sword will not beat DR Cold iron, even if the total bonus for this sword would be equivalent of +7 (holy = +2, Vorpal = +4) but a straight +3 sword would.
It's still better than old school AD&D resistances, where it was straight up immunity.
Again, the issue of not having access to specific gear is more critical when it comes to resistance or "utility" magic items. A level 20 fighter with no cloak of resistance (or other kind of "resist" gear) is a deadweight and will get stomped by most level adequate ennemies (and with such gear, he'll get just a little less stomped ^^)

Yep fire resistance if you fight an old red dragon is a must ore you will burn by 20W10 fire dmg away (a wiz can cast immune to specific energie ore was it a devine spell, arg have not played pathfinder since 3 years cause no group)
Nearly all enemies with a CR over 15 have dmg reduction and even much lesser have nasty skills which can disable ore make your fighter useless by other term if you have bad saves and resist
