So its been more than half a year since release, has the bloodline arcana been updated to actually do something or is still effectively useless?

most bloodlines are useless when compared to sylvan/sage/arcane/draconic. the extent of uselessness varies, but not by much. It's just how it is. Not all choices are created equal.

you seem to miss the point entirely... The question was never about the effectiveness or power of the bloodline but rather its arcana... for you see it affected CHARM SPELLS

No such spells existed in game, all enchants are compulsion, ergo that makes the arcana useless it might aswell not exist, much like Tristains second domain

oh that. Yeah it's still useless in that regard as well. I guess it can be used to cancel tieflings cha malus, but that's unusable too as there is no viable build that makes use of it.
