How do I stop the troll attacks?
I know I have to stop whatever is summoning them, but I can't find it on the map. I thought maybe I had to wait days out in kingdom management screen, and I did get an event where a guy says a hermit in the woods is summoning them, but still was not able to find the location anywhere.

So I went back, and kept waiting days out, had to let a companion get a beat down from a plaladin that was very much beyond the companion's level, and then my kingdom got destroyed from all the troll attacks. But I still never found out "where" the dang things are coming from!

Only info I could find is that I have to stop them, and guides on how to do that, but nothing that had info on how to find it in the first place. Unless I just am being a big derp and the solution is right in front of me, then it does not seem to be on my map anywhere.

- 1 month after getting capital, Troll trouble main quest start. They basically tell you to go explore and gather info.

- Next of the capital is the companion Jubilost location who is looking for a dwarven ruin. I think he give you some info?(optional)

- A not random encounter with a NPC(Deacon?) who is attacked by a few trolls and tell you about the Lone house and Bartholome who is researching trolls. He can also advance Amiri quest.

- Visit Lone house to gather info by talking to Bartholome.

- Visit Ruined watchtower to recruit Ekundayo and he has info on the troll potential lair. I think 2+ optional locations appear on the map from Ekundayo info.

- You should see the Dwarven Ruins south of the map.

You have to earn the location through in-game investigation, it does not simply appear while you rest in the capital. Ekun is the only automatic source but it is possible to miss him entirely and learn the location from Bartholomew provided you save him from the second Lone House attack.

I think I had a bug of sorts, cause the Lone House would not appear on the map no matter what until I got a random encounter to save an elf trader being attacked by trolls, and he told the location, and then it appeared on the map. It would not appear before that, even though I have circled that area many times, until I encountered the elf.

I dont think that is a bug. I think that is intentional. You are supposed to explore in order to resolve that quest and that encounter is part of the quest chain.

Mork got it pretty much right, but please note that you will find some other areas as well that are not directly related to the main quest but that can be explored during it. There is a kobold encounter that is hilarious, as an example, in one of the spots that Bartholomew suggest you explore and I do not think it is available later in the game
