Infuriating mirror puzzle in the House at the End of Time
In my first playthrough of this game I just murdered my way through the house of bullcrap, killing everyone inside. But after later learning the story behind the house's inhabitants, I've loaded an earlier save to set things right and try to complete the mirror quest. And now I'm stuck after wading through hours of this nerve wracking dungeon with ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥t respawning enemies and loading screens every couple of minutes. Nothing I do seems to work and I don't know whether I ran into a game breaking bug or not.

UPDATE: I've managed to figure it out. I was too paranoid about there being a bug that I didn't consider that I may have just accidentally activated a false mirror somewhere along the way. In case somebody else is having trouble with this quest, the steps to unlock this puzzle are as follows:

1. Begin the quest by touching the mirror in the middle room in the far south east corner of the first floor. I don't know exactly what dimension this is, just flip your lantern (deactivate the lantern and go through any green mist area) on this floor until you find it. This is the mirror that starts the quest. You don't need to touch it again.
2. Go to the middle of the first room and find a mirror in the intersection, near the room where you find Valerie. This is the first mirror.
3. Go to the second floor and down the hall until you reach a large dining area. There should be a second mirror in the upper right corner. Again, flip lantern if you can't see it.
4. The third mirror is located in the basement pantry, inside a large room with lots of pumpkins, next to a stack of barrels.
5. If you make a mistake you can just go back to the first floor and touch the mirror in the middle of the map to start the sequence all over again.

I would strongly recommend killing all the enemies before trying to attempt this quest.

I did find a guide online. In fact as of right now I'm read several of them. After a while I've managed to figure it out - the Knurly Witch disappears if you can talk her into giving up the key and you don't need to find her again, AFAIK. Also I've posted the solution in the opening post for future reference.

wait, you can convince her to leave? After I entered pumpkin room, I don't recall this was an option, she attacked me eitherway, despite I agreed to kill that other guy for her

I think you need to be of a neutral evil alignment and pass a persuasion DC check to do this.

I was.. neutral good I think. Oh well, eitherway she didn't deserve to be left alive :)

Knurly Witch drops Gyronna's Amulet. Which means she doesn't deserve to live, ever. :)

since that time, all my pary had at least helmet of mental perfection +6 or 8 and amulet of AC+5, This amulet alone wouldn't be worth the fight, I'd say I value exp points more, since I couldn't even get to 19lv before finale.
