Any way to increase Mutagen duration?
10 minute feels a bit short...

By leveling alchemist

It also become 1hour/alchemist at level 14

Can a Vivisectionist get this? Or only the standard Alchemist?

Hmm, I checked in-game. You can. 14 level investment is a lot though. But then I guess Alchemist is one of the stronger non-multi-class classes.

Yes, alchemist is really strong except on unfair when the lack of mirror image starts to bite. Would be great if there were feats to increase mutagen duration/uses but no, that isn't an option in Kingmaker.

Perhaps stop at level 14 or 16 Vivisectionist then?

I'd take 16 viv levels for transformation, personally. Lots of good options for the remaining four levels including 1-2 levels of scaled fist, 2 levels of divine hunter, 1-4 levels of knifemaster, or just staying pure for the level 20 discovery.

Even greater mutagen is really strong. If you have more then 1 Alchemist/Viv who has more levels they can just cast Transformation with infusion. I basically used Jub to cast Transformation on my 3 melee guys.

Straight alchemist seemed weird to be being a noob. Looks like it be better to just go Grenadier or Viv.

Being a noob I probably went to hard into Viv. My Mc/Val/Amiri/Jaethal all had a good number of Viv levels. Val had the most I went straight Viv with her after her starting 1st level.

I probably didn't spend enough time learning all of the classes as a noob. I was leaning towards alchemist, monk and paladin just cause I thought they were really cool classes. I was kind of bummed when I discovered there were no more companions and you didn't get a paladin or monk. So I am sure there are other class combos I have no idea about that are strong.

Since str double blade vivi is the best, not counting trip, I'd go for either V16/m1/slayer3 or V16/M2/F2 or V16/M2/divine guardian2. Something like that. V12 is ok too, but unless you scale non-iteratives(which vivi doesn't do well) or scale bites(which is a trip vivi) the trade-off will hardly be worth it.

One of my first viv run-throughs way back when used InEffect's trip build, which was more or less my introduction to the strategic use of combat maneuvers. Fond memories of that one!

Just finished a 16/2/2 double blade run on hard and would say it didn't bring as much party utility overall as the trip build did, though the non-trip character certainly held her own damage-wise.

Intended to balance alchemist as it is already a strong class and intended to last one small area or boss fight. Also way better than Rage duration.

Why Divine Hunter and not other types of Paladin?
jsaving Apr 26, 2020 @ 7:33am
For a 2-level splash, you aren't worried about higher-level abilities but are just looking to see which archetype happens to give you a bonus feat of some type. You'll sometimes see people splash aldori defender rather than the base fighter, for example, because it gives you a bonus exotic weapon proficiency. Similariy in this case, divine hunter gives you precise shot in additional to all normal paladin abilities.

Ah, ok. I get that; I didn't conceive it for myself because I don't use ranged Paladins...

In my last run-through where I had a character splash divine hunter, he never once used a ranged weapon so precise shot ended up being useless for him. But there really isn't anything to lose by taking the extra bonus just in case.

I like bow Viv.
No mirror image doesn't matter.
Has high Dex and Str.
Never loses full attack due to needing to move to reach another target.
This game lets you sneak attack from any range (not just within 30ft).
