A good Chirurgeon Build
So I have been having fun so far with different builds. I was curious about the Chirurgeon. Does anyone have any good/interesting/fun Chirurgeon builds ? I am thinking of doing a normal with that class. As I understand it, I would be a healer primarily for big fights, with the ability to dish out alchemist damage in the usual trash fights. I have been fishing around for a build/suggestion for build.

It's just the same old alchemist. marginally better than the standard one cause he trades useless poison resist for something better. Worse than grenadier cause what he gets is not as good as what that one does. In effect there are no significant differences between whatshisface and any other alchemist with infusion that you'd want anyways to give out other spells. In fact, Grenadier that takes infusion at 2 is the same, but for all the spells cause healer alchemist has to take precise bomb at 2.

Similar in how you build Jubilost.

No

Alchemist with bomb want to stay as pure as possible. A chirurgeon is still a bomb alchemist, a very strong class by itself.

if it's MC - kinda. If it's a merc cleric you can add 2 levels if EA to be a better archer, but doesn't matter too much. If it's a level 20 merc hire - yes, very much so.
For MC it's only worth it if you are running some hybrid with melee focus. Like a feyspeaker shapeshifter. For lvl 20 merc there is wiz7/druid3/theurge 10 and cler8/wiz3/theurge9.

Yep. You can find the whole thing in my unfair guide.

I looked at your guige in gog both v1 and v2 also looked at the word doc guide i found in google, but none of them had a Chirurgeon build.

take jubi build from unfair guide and that's that except you'd have a few more feats spare. Alchemist is not exactly a class to innovate on.

No you are not going to find Chirurgeon build around the net since build maker are in general min-maxer that try to get the most of each class. Chirurgeon is not on their radar at all, they all go for grenadier or vivisectionist since they are 'superior' in term of power level.

Jubilost build is the closest you gonna get, but you gonna need to fill the first 5 levels pretty much the same way as Jubi did.

ok so not exactly a build question, but how the heck do you actually heal with it. I was under the impression I would be "building" my own healing bombs and throwing them. I feel like I am missing something big here, and I am not seeing it. I tried to use potions, or spells etc but they used like normal, I had to run up to the person there was no healing bomb per se ?
PassoLiati 15 ABR 2020 a las 13:45
also precise bombs say it allows the bomb to not impact party members but I do want it to impact party members.

Ok so I think I answered my first question. I guess my imagination got the better of me there never was a healing bomb notion, or ranged healing as I had hoped. gah

As I said, it's just an alchemist with a bit attached on the side and infusion grenadier does the same, but has more useful stuff in addition to it and then some. And don't ask me why they included something that's strictly worse than other kits.

i myself kinda expected the chirurgeon to be at least a little better at healing than the other alchemists, but i saw no difference. I played one to level 20 in the roguelike dlc and it did okay, but i agree that grenadier could have done everything my chirurgeon could do but all the same or better.
a healing bomb would have been cool, but maybe a bit too OP, ranged aoe healing, 20+ times a day?, but then again, clerics get channel energy and mass cure spells.
or maybe they could have had the ability to infuse their healing spells into bombs, like throwing a neutralize poison bomb or a lesser restoration bomb.

you could take away their damage bombs and replace them with healing bombs instead, to balance it out. I dunno

or maybe just have a feat to allow them to use their mutagen on someone else instead of themself

i honestly don't know what the chirurgeon class even does that's unique. I mean, i think a "chirurgeon " is a "combat medic" but i don't see anything combat medicky about this class
