AOE reticle accuracy
Is anyone else having the issue when using the reticle to target enemies with AOE spells but the spell still hitting allies even if they are not in the circle?

Are they very close to the circle? I don't find it to be that precise.

They are close, It's kind of unfortunate the targeting reticle should be more accurate >.>

Well it's unfortunate from a game-y pov, but kind of makes sense for an aoe spell.

I don't see how, an to be honest I'm not going to start a debate over the logistics of fictional magical spells and how people would think they work IRL... >.>

You are correct Kasa, Owlcat managed to screw up preview precision in their code's calculations, all reticles seem to be at least 5-10ft off in-game units (which is basicly 1-2 character steps).

It is especially noticeble in Line aoe spells

♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ that's a lot to be off by! =[
That's pretty bad especially when dealing with a lot of control AOE spells like grease, spiderweb, glitterdust ect...

I wasn't really trying to start a debate. As I said, it's not very precise.

♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, and I was just searching if anyone else had the same bug as me, but if that aint a bug thats just bad programming. The game in contrast to the P&P doesn't have a grid with defined 1,5m steps, so when I'm moving into a position and cast a spell that shouldn't hit my party, IT SHOULDN'T HIT MY PARTY.

Just killed part of my own party because of it TWICE.
I know they wont change anything in this game anymore because they are busy with their next project, but stuff like this make me think twice about buying their next game.

ayup, not surprised though game has been a bug riddled mess since launch. Though to be fair the dev team put in a lot of effort and fixed a lot of things. The just released it was to soon without first fixing some pretty game breaking bugs.

It's also because it's got Real Time with Pause (RTwP) instead of Turn-Based (TB) combat. By the time your spell is cast both the enemies and your guys have moved a little.

Neither of the above is correct. What you have to do is press Ctrl when casting to turn off snapping to targets. Then the spell will go exactly where you pointed.

Glad to see your still playing InEffect. Nice guides btw, with that said you can actually turn off snapping in the option menu so you don't have to hold down Ctrl.

Snapping is nice to have sometimes. You can fire off party-friendly AoE without caring to re-target. Also good for throwing line spells directly on the target when you play a sorc so you can't miss.
And yeah I'm stranded for a week now and bored AF so I decided to look what steam forums look like nowadays xD

Ok now I'm irritated. I thought snapping only works when you aim at an enemy to begin with. I never do to exactly negate that. I always point towards emty space. So if what you say is correct, to who of all the persons in LoF does he snap it on then?

If I had to guess it tries to move to the nearest target cause the margin of error corresponds with the area of snapping if you try to cast in the middle of the enemy group. Or maybe to the middle of the cell... Your guess is as good as mine.
