Can't see a difference in movement speed
My smilodon has a speed of 40. Valerie, Amiri and Linzi: 20. My main and Octavia: 30.

I've been testing to move the whole group from one side of the map to the other to see if the faster characters arrives before the slower, but that doesn't seem to be the case. From what I can see, they are all moving at the same speed?

I'm looking at this to find out if it would be a big loss to give Amiri a full plate in spite of her "Fast movement" feat.

Also, from what I understand, the movement speed doesn't affect combat, is that correct?

Your party's speed out of combat just goes to a default value, then collectively speeds up depending on how far away you click.

Only when you are in combat does character speed take effect. If you just issue a movement order to your whole party in combat, you should notice Linzi immediately fall behind because she's a stupid slow midget, and things like animal companions will race off ahead.

When your party moves as a group it moves as fast as its slowest member.

If Amiri has a speed of 20, you need to put her in lighter armour, as that's reducing her speed.

Uzkin and DarkFenix,

thanks for clarifying

Yes I'm using full plate on her, prioritizing the higher AC.
I know her movement speed value would be 10 higher in medium armor because of her "Fast movement" feat.

BTW, does anyone know if mithral full plate counts as medium armor when it comes to movement speed now? Some people posted about that a year ago, complaining that it was bugged and mithral full plate counted as regular full plate regarding movement speed.

You're wrong on a few accounts.

Her base movement is 30 for human, and 10 for barb, so 40.

Fast movement doesn't work in full plate and limits movement to 20.

So she moves 20.

Yes mithril should make her move as medium. Fyi, some mediums still restrict movement to 20. I take it you've also taken the heavy armour proficiency feat for her as well?

What medium armor restricts her movement to 20? I've tested some normal and magical breastplate, scalemail and hide armor, and they all take her speed down 10 to 30.

I gave her the heavy armor proficiency yes. She lacks the dex to do well in medium unfortunately.
