Should I play the DLC first?
Hello! So I haven't finished the main story yet but I noticed that it says I can export the Save from the DLC to my Main game and depending on the Choices I made in the DLC it changes things in the story? So should I play the DLC first or should I play the Main Story through once. then do the DLC and then Import those Choices to my second run so I don't get accidently spoiled by the DLC.

DLC is a separate adventure. There are no spoilers in it regarding your main campaign. Since its the DLC that influences your main campaign and not the other way around you should play the DLC first.

I'm gonna wait a bit just in case someone comes in saying other wise but if not I'm gonna do that! Thanks!

Oh a Different Question can I implement the DLC Save File into a already started Main Campaign?

You import your main char into the campaing. But you play Meagars group, i recommend a save before you take on Vordekay ore better even Season of bloom.

I wonder if you wanted to change anything in the dlc then have a different outcome and import it over the imported one already but that will probably mess up the main save though
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

I just Finished Troll Trouble, is that Chapter 2 or 3?
Not sure if the Prologue counts :v

For your Information this is my second attempt at a Play Through, the Last Run was months ago when the game came out and stopped at Vordekais Tomb due to Bugs and other reasons.

So I know that soon I'm gonna go into the Direction of Varnhold (at least in my first run i visited it etc.) so that's why I'm concerned if I should do it now or not.

Thats Chapter 2. I just think you as a player would appreciate the DLC story more if you are at least at the point where you have been to Varnhold in main game.

Ill just throw this in here:

The difficulty of the DLC is absolutely nuts.
I am doing fairly well on my unfair run of the main game but struggling in the DLC castle on hard.

You are constantly surrounded, constantly invisble enemies constant traps. It is brutal.

I would not recommend playing this before getting a good grasp of how the game works.

I just consider Troll trouble Ch1 since The Stag is more like a prologue

That will be no problem to me since I'm not a Madman so I'll just play on my nice Custom Difficulty wich I have fun with in the Normal Story mode.

But yeah! Thanks guys gonna go play a bit more and Start the DLC when I visit Varnhold and "Discover" it for the First time and act like the DLC is some sort of Flashback or something that cuts in haha.

Jeah, i love it! Had to switch down to challenging and it still was a challenge. Esp. the last dungeon. All those lovely traps that are real traps, not red bonus XP spots: "oh nice, finally a resting area, almost no food left..." (ouch)

If you are starting a new game and are too impatient to replay all the way to the end of Chapter 3, but still want to fit in the DLC at an appropriate moment during your own main campaign, I would play it after Chapter 1. When you go back to Restov to receive your barony, save and load up the DLC to see the ceremony from Varn's perspective and go off and do DLC stuff in Varnhold. Complete the DLC, continue main quest and wait for the DLC results to be imported later.

I play on what I call Normal+. Normal Difficulty with Critical damage set to "normal" instead of "weak" and I bump enemy damage up from 0.8 to 1.0. I'm trying to make things as they would be in normal PnP as much as possible.
