yeah don't think its possible the game just does it i bet if they would allow visuals in the actual city part like how BG had with tons of buildings they would allow us to rotate it, i had really hoped they would give visuals in the city as well
Wow, thats weird

That used to bother me a lot because you can't really efficiently build your cities when using larger buildings, but it ends up not really mattering.

The Kingdom management isn't much more than a tedious mini-game you have to play and the optimization of your cities doesn't have much of an impact on it anyways.

Come on! They've implemented a small minigame where you have to get some buildings adjacent to each other. Some buildings take up 2 or more slots and you can't rotate them???

exactly. Want another revelation? Whole building thing is largely pointless as 90% of stat bumps comes from missions. Only things you really need to build are early buildings to rush to sub-advisorts and Spy/Relations buildings late.
And bulletin boards. Because Lawful characters needed to be the only reasonable option.

on the bright side, it doesn't matter if you can't rotate.

Yeah that's the most important thing to understand. The kingdom building is pretty pointless. I'm on Act III/IV now and haven't even really upgraded my capital yet. My towns/villages have nothing but the artisan buildings in them.

Mage Tower / Teleportation Circle will help you a LOT. Teleporting from one settlement to another without all the tedious map movement will save you a LOT of time and random encounters. Especially if you build your settlements in strategic locations such as river crossings.

I agree that most buildings don't matter but would point out that you can get higher-tier items from an artisan by upgrading her workshop, which is only possible if you've constructed enough buildings in enough villages. So you'll sometimes want to get to that magic number of 6 buildings per village even though you barely care which buildings they are.

I DON'T CARE IF IT'S POINTLESS IT'S IN THE GAME IT'S FAIRLY FUN AND IT SHOULDN'T HAVE BEEN NEGLECTED LIKE THAT!!!

Somebody made a mod to rotate the camera around charackters wich also was not possible originally so perhaps rotating buildings could be modded into the game either?

Again, it doesn't really matter enough for anyone to make the effort. The kingdom/city building for both games is a waste of time for more than a moment's thought. It's as shallow as can be so save your breath and don't worry about it.
