Like, I understand why they decided to go for fixed loot placement, and I don't think that's necessarily incorrect, but it makes things difficult if you have need for a specific type of gear for your build, and either there isn't enough in existence or it's too difficult to find.
We were told during beta that the artisan system would fill this gap, but there just isn't enough interactivity with the artisans to achieve that claim, so what would be 'basic' gear progression in tabletop is often unavailable to us in kingmaker crpg.
I know there are modders trying to fix this, but that doesn't help much for people who either cannot or prefer not to use mods. (given the number of weird bugs in kingmaker itself that get even weirder with mods present, this remains a legitimate concern)
I do hope this gets addressed at some point.
Asked Bokken for a ring he gave me an alchemist ring asked for another gave me the same in the end they only craft stuff for you to sell and buy build points
OR
You could use the item crafting mod
OR
Get to really End Game you can find some good stuff but in between good luck
That'd be nice. It's also closer to what we were led to believe the artisans would be like.
As you level up your kingdom stats, artisans start crafting some new gear which can be really good. Of course, it's random, but that's part of the fun.
I've just finished Ancient Curse Part 5.
Until now, I've been spending 800 000 gold on BPs and I still have 500 000 gold left.
Most of that gold comes from selling artisan's gear.
(and I could probably get 400 000 or so more gold if I sold the items I've been keeping because I use them)
Edit: If you want to benefit from your artisan's items, you need to found new settlements and visit the artisans there asap. Depending on how fast you are, the items they give you can be significantly good compared to what you loot otherwise. Even low tier items are good if you get them early (+4 DEX gloves or rod with +3 fear resist and quicken level 1-3 spell 3x per day, for instance).
They should have at least included basic +1 to +3 or even 4 from shops for every weapon so people dont have to respec their characters when they realize that their chosen weapon doesnt have any viable mid or late game options.
You don't need to respec with the craft mod
