Artisans
Have been doing some extensive research about artisans and got lots of my questions answered, however there are still quite a few remains, hopefully you guys can help me.

-How often do artisans show up in my courtroom to give me their current crafts? I was told that they each require a month to create an item but after skipping forward a few months to test this theory, usually I get maybe one of them in every 1.5 month, sometimes even 2 months without anyone giving me any goodies. Is there a way to make receiving their items a planned occurrence (each of them would check in with me during same time of the month, leave their ordered craft and accept my order for the next one)?

-Bokken. He had given me a tier 1 belt and disappeared without even asking me what should he work on next. Yet again, after testing the system by forwarding time, he is still a no show after 4 months (I've finished his 3 book quest just before the 4 month absence).

-Do I need to go and see the artisan in their respective village or how to tell them to start crafting (if they fail to show up in my courtroom)?

-Do artisans craft if they have an open quest? One of them needs me to find them a gem, do they work before I finish that quest?

-I've read about how to progress within their TIER level, what constitutes a lvl up. Building them a workshop considered a tier lvl up or that's the bare minimum before they start crafting anything at all?

Thank you for all the helpful answers.

1. Item production times range from between 63 to 112 days, except for the first item an artisan ever produces, which ranges from 22 to 45 days.

2. This was a gift and not a crafted item. They are not random and can be manipulate to get what you want from a artisan. Each artisans as 2 gifts total, except for Shaynih'a who has none and are almost always a tier 3 for the first one or a tier 5 for the second one.

For example Nazrielle, first gift is at community rank 5 = a tier 3 from his list
and second gift at community rank 8 + relation rank 6 = Redeemer after a few reloads

3. For the majority of them, you need to go in the village, talk to them and do one simple quest for them to let you build a workshop. As soon as that workshop is build, they start crafting right away.

4. They start working as soon as the workshop is build, finding a gem for Mim is the quest to recruit her. After that quest is done build her a workshop.

5. Tier are mostly link to advisor rank but there is other sources.
For example Nazrielle tier are at:

Complete/Fail? quest Nazrielle's Greatest Creation
2 tiers during Coronation Throneroom Event
Build Workshop
Kingdom Project community Rank Up to 5
Kingdom Project community Rank Up to 9
Kingdom Project Relations Rankup to 6

Kingdom Project Kamelands_Upgrade_HorsesBreedingCenter
or

Thank you for your helpful answers, much appreciated.

Bokken just showed up and left without me being able to talk to him and ask him to start crafting again. Then I went to both the village he has a workshop (he is not there) and then Oleg's Trading post but I found no option how to order him to start crafting again. Is there something I'm missing? For example when Dragn shows up I always have the opportunity to tell him what category to craft straight away without the need to go and see him in his village. This situation starts to look suspiciously similar as before when Bokken gave me a gift then disappeared for months.

It was most likely one of Bokken gifts. Probably from Loyalty rank 3. Those are free and unrelated to his crafting production timer.

The same thing will happen to Dragn if you rank military to 4. Gift from his tier 3 list, notably something between.

Crusader's Mithral Full Plate
Preacher's Warhammer
Tempest

To get what you want from those 3 items, you quicksave before ranking military to 4 and reload if needed.

Thank you for your patience in the matter. After checking all the links you've provided me with, I'm starting to see a bit clearer now.

Have you found any items that are so good it's worth building a whole playthrough/character around them?

Yes, Redeemer is powerful enough to build around it, a longsword.

To ask for ''x'' until you get >>>
Mim tier 0 necklace: Amulet of Four Elements
Sharel tier 0 Robe: Leviathan's Gift
Kimo quivers until coronation is done if you have a bow user
Irlene: Rods, specially tier 1 and tier 3 ones
Varrask tier 0 boots: Opportunist's Boots
......
The list could be very long and depend on your party but i use Mim and Sharel tier 0 items until the end.

Pretty much all masterpieces are good but also harder to get, you should hope to get them but mostly not build around them.

Thanks again.

Few detail I'm still a bit unsure of.

I've just claimed the Kamelands and built Nazrielle and Varrask their workshop (latter also needed his tools to be bought back). If I'm not mistaken, that makes them Tier 0?

At the moment i'm doing Nazrielle's first quest but does it mean when finished, she'll bump up to Tier 1 automatically and I won't be able to request from Tier 0 item (not including the chance when she crafts something from current -1 tier)?

Do i need to rush their quests or I can just take my time in case if I need something from lower tiers? If I leave their quest open, do artisans still continue to craft items?

I really dislike how much behind the scenes meta knowledge you need to unlock the artisan stuff. It would be OK if they made it a little more transparent

Correct

He is going to have the potential to craft tier 1 but can still craft you tier 0.

If you request an item from a specific deck, the chances of receiving an item from each tier is:
Tier Chance
Current Tier 10%
Current Tier - 1 70%
Current Tier - 2 20%

If you don't request an item from a specific deck, the chances of receiving an item from each tier is:
Tier Chance
Current Tier 30%
Current Tier - 1 45%
Current Tier - 2 25%

I try to do their quests kinda fast if possible since higher tier generally mean more gold or better items overall. However, i'm also a little bit careful with Mim and Sharel since i really want tier 0 from them, 1 necklace and 1 or 2 robes to be exact.

Try your best but keep in mind that it took me a few campaigns to become very good with artisans.

Thanks again for the reply.

The info starts to slowly sinking in, thanks to your patience.

One of the last of my million questions:

What counts as a tier up with artisans? Using your example and trying to understand it step-by-step:

Complete/Fail? quest Nazrielle's Greatest Creation
2 tiers during Coronation Throneroom Event
Build Workshop
Kingdom Project community Rank Up to 5
Kingdom Project community Rank Up to 9
Kingdom Project Relations Rankup to 6

Kingdom Project Kamelands_Upgrade_HorsesBreedingCenter
or
Kingdom Project Kamelands_Upgrade_OutdoorMuseum

-Building a workshop still makes it tier 0?

-Doing their quest bumps it up to lvl 1?

-Never seen the coronation but I'm assuming that raises tier by another 2 (we are at tier 3 if I'm not mistaken)

And that's where I'm lost.
Mork Mar 10, 2020 @ 3:25pm
In a normal game it will probably increase up this way.

+0 workshop = tier 0
+1 quest = tier 1
+1 community 5 = tier 2 + gift #1
+2 coronation when you get a crown = tier 4
+1 relation 6 = tier 5
+1 community 9 = tier 6 + gift #2
+1 horse breeding center = tier 7

As you can see there is more artisan 'potential tier' then 'item tier' itself. I don't have mod to check current tier, but i'm pretty sure you get better odds the more upgrades you have and also slowly locking away lower tier items.

Artisans craft once recruited and provided with a workshop. They bring you something every 50-80 days (roughly, I wrote it down once) from the tiers you have access to. Once you have been crowned, and if the rank is high enough, they may craft their masterpieces for you, if you did all their quests. When crafting a masterpiece, the interval will be 180 days, give or take a few.
Some of the masterpieces are very good. The best weapon is probably Perfection, Nazrielle's longsword, which grants an untyped +2 bonus to many things. If you have gone exotic, Shaynih'a crafts Mastery, a fauchard (reach weapon). Dragn will make Onslaught, a mithral +5 full plate with extra speed and enormous STR bonus. Bokken has an elixir that raises all stats permanently by 2. The rod from Irlene is The powertool for all nukers. The robe from Sharel adds +1 to all damage dice of an elemental spell - stacks with the amulet (and the hat if you care about that).
The lesser items are not bad either. There is for example a headband with 6 CHA and WIS and +2d6 to channeling, custom made for a cleric.

Tiers are accessed by your kingdom rankings, nothing else. That are the roman numerals from I to X in loyalty, relations, and so on. Each of the 10 crafters is tied to one of them.

Craftsmen quests have always three steps and only if completed will they craft their masterpieces (after you are crowned). Masterpieces are tier 6 and not guaranteed. If you have done all quests before the coronation and raised your ranks fast, chances are better to get all of them.

If you build no workshop, they do not craft. They have no other function and don't raise tiers. They just enable the crafting.

Awesome, I'm slowly becoming an artisan expert and start accepting questions on the topic.

You've mentioned aiming for higher lvl items which I assume sell for more gold? What do you use accumulated wealth on?

Would you happen to know when is the crafted item decided on? Is it possible to save scum regular crafted ones for better result?
Morgian Mar 10, 2020 @ 3:41pm
The high level items are for equipping your group first, cash second. Once you have the kingdom project Planar Trade, you can exchange BP for a +5 item each month, which you can sell...it's a way to turn BP into gold again, although a few of the items are worth keeping, like the greater rod of maximize.

I spent all my cash on my first run when I got to the Rushlight tournament and bought the upgrades in the shops there. The ring of circumstance costs like 350.000 and the amulets and cloaks are not that cheap either. High level scrolls and diamond dust ate some cash, too...I bought most mass heal scrolls before going off to the final part. The final merchant in the game sells also expensive stuff, including a book for 770.000 :)
I think all of us buy BP at first too to get started with kingdom building.

During the first part of the game gold is mostly use for BP.

After your kingdom get going and don't need you to buy BP for it, then there is a few places that has very good items,

Pitax tournament where you can easily spend between 330k to 1,1m.
Pitax itself 330k+
Goblin merchant DLC
Brineheart 50k+
Jhod heal, mass heal, greater restoration scrolls ....
....

As for save scumming a entire crafting process, its possible but also extremely painful to do so. You have to save before they bring you their last item, quick save 1 day after you ask for something and pass time until they bring you the item. It can be something between 40-180 days ... so i just do it if i'm really desperate to get Bokken masterpiece for example.

Makes sense, thank you.

Available BP for sale replenishes in every chapter?
