How do you get Varnhold's Lot loot in the main campaign?
I spared Vordakai and he replaced Varn. I am at Rushlight tournament already, zero news so far.

You wont get anything realted to Varnhold's Lot. If you spare Vordakai there is nobody left who would be concerned about your General from the DLC. You have to kill Vordakai for this an free the souls

Turns out, you were wrong. I just met the goblin in encounter connected to the "Runaway Throne" quest and he sells magic items from Varnhold's Lot. A bit pointless at this stage of the game but it is better then never I guess.

It seems like I bought the DLC for nothing. So you can buy loot you've already acquired that may be below your level now - and what else? Does Varnhold's Lot give you anything for the main campaign? LIke more quests?

Not for the main campaign. The loot you get from varnhold depends on how you did the DLC. Some of the loot will be sold by the goblin, some will be earned while doing the vanishing chapter (you will get it from several encounters, that might change depending on the events of varhhold DLC).

Some of the varhold items you can get are unique, you can't get them other than by doing the DLC in certain ways.

Of course it's intended for when you're starting the chapter (with the goblin) through the end of it. If you're already in chapter 6, you'll have usually better besides some exceptions.
And obviously, if you import the save after doing varnhold chapter, you're missing most of the changes (aside from the goblin).

Many of the loots from Varnhold DLC that can be exported will last until the end. Like

- Charon's Touch: Not many bracer except for armor and archery bracer. 2 greater false life and 2 harm par day is pretty sweet.

- Battle master's Plate: A very nice +4 mithral full plate with upside and easy to get. Probably the 2nd or 3rd best heavy armor in the game.

- Lion' claw: 18-20 crit x3 falcata is very good with a magus or paladin that can buff weapons.

- Amulet of the dying wisdom: you will see many end game builds using it.

- The Longbow of the cold moon is free and have a nice base damage of 3d6 cold. That 3d6 can be increase quite a lot with enlarge type spells and hurricane bow.

- The Staff of whispering souls make evil wizard or sage sorcerer reach insane intelligence with his +4 profane bonus to int.

The Overside bastard sword in your list seem to be the wrong one? I don't have it so i cannot tell for sure but i'm pretty sure it's not that one.

One of the missing item is the staff that you get in the Varnhold DLC by killing the cultist and receive in the main campaign in Vordekai tomb.

The helmet is obtain in the DLC by killing the first centaur 'boss'.

So I should do the DLC before I do the main campaign?

I'd advise doing it during season of the bloom. You will have slightly better idea of what you are doing by then if you are new to the game.
Also note that save import you do at the start of Varn DLC only affects the looks of the baron in the cutscene. You can inject varn endstate into as many games as you want after you've done it once.

Just one more question: Other than items, what does the DLC add to the main campaign? Do you get a lot more quests? If yes, then how many more extra hours?
jsaving Apr 6, 2020 @ 7:43pm
The DLC adds one five-minute quest to the main campaign and broadens one NPC's shop inventory in the main campaign.

LOL, that's really minimal. So it's probably not going to help me get to level 20 ;)
