This mod adds another layer to the game of strategy, gold dump, and choices when you fight - do you use the wand charge or not waste it since it costs gold.
I personally play with extremely higher enemy health using a mod so spellcasters fall behind without lots of rests so i am using wand crafting as an option in my mod version.
I think most people just rest after every fight because rations are so cheap and it only takes 1 hour to recharge all abilities/spells that this is easy to do. However i find rations overpowered and this method to be worse than my moded methods even if it's technically part of the game to use rations.
Sorcerer works fine, I usually spec mine for evocation. Since the fey became immune to cold and a lot have evasion (I don't know if that came from difficulty or a patch since I did not play for months) other spell types look more inviting though. Aside from the evasion problem, the amulet and robe you can get add each +1/die of damage to elemental spells, and one hat adds +1/die to cold spells. I usually add the robe and amulet (and drop the hat for a mental enhancer) which makes AE spells pretty useful.
