On a serious note: for casters, or any other characters, that DON'T wear armor. It provides bonus of the same type, so if you wear armor, you will only get either armor's bonus, or bracer's, whichever is higher.
I think the highest AC characters don't use armor, since armor caps your dexterity bonus to AC. Also, there are monk robes that provide +5 dodge bonus to AC as well.
Early game, +4 or +5 bracers of armor will save you a spell slot, since they replace Mage Armor.
Bonus to AC of the same kind don't stack. Bracers of armor are armor AC. So that means that you can't use them with an armor. It's for chars that don't use armors in chest piece (like mages and monks).
