Need "Freedom of Movement"
I am having troubles at the House on the Edge of Time, and I need "Freedom of Movement". But I cannot buff it as I have no scrolls, no potions, no skills, no spells granting this effect. The vendor in the front garden does not sell anything. I never sell scrolls and potions, but keep them, so I have no idea how this can be.

Any tips of what I can do? What can give my party (repeatedly) the Freedom of Movement effect? I have all party members except Nok-Nok and Tristian...

Thanks!

If you have access to a Cleric, it's a level 4 spell.

Bards and Inquisitors can also add it to their spell list when levelling.

Your best bet is probably Harrim (or Linzi/Jaethal if you picked the spell when levelling).

I seem to remember a ring from Pitax that gives a permanent Freedom of Movement effect to Chaotic characters if I'm not mistaken.

Harrim or an Inquisitor PC, like Amiri or Jubilost.

No FoM? Give up and re roll from the start, sorry.

Thank you for your quick replies...

I forgot to mention that I do not have Jaethal, either.

Don't know if to laugh or cry: I reskilled Harrim very early as a fighter, as I preferred Tristian as a cleric (whom I lost now as the third part of his quest never triggered for me). So, Harrim has no 4th level spells. :D

Oh well... I tuned down all difficulties and just buff and reload my way trough. Valerie is my bullwark, she has "Owlbear Skin Boots" (immunity to paralyzing effects and more), and never goes down, doing decent damage... though fights take for ages, and often I get unlucky rolls and then she dies anyway, so reload...

Honestly, I really loved this game until the final chapter. The strength of the enemies and letting the player only ONE single defense strategy (FoM) ist just... so frustrating...

By the way: Isn't FoM a "one target spell"? So you would have to buff it one by one, which takes all your daily spells for this level, I assume, and when it wears off, you have to rest? Is there even a "communal" version?
Honestly, how crappy is that?
I pardoned every bug I encountered so far, and I praised the game for story and atmosphere, but the finale is just a big shame.

It is a one target spell but the duration will cover you for a while.

Looking at the 1.1 notes they changed blind fight feat to also give immunity to gaze attacks. Might not help you now but atleast there looks to be some acknowledgement that the gaze attacks are a bit crazy, and may be a change that helps you if you wait a bit.

You should have at least one Mallot of Woe by now that grants perma Freedom of Movement, I think that dropped a long time ago in Act 3 perhaps? I found another one recently.

But honestly you might want to respec Harrim via the respec mod on nexus so you can get the 4th lvl spell. Or just create a custom merc and create the best cleric. That's what I did after I lost Tristian.

If you think it is bad now just wait till you get past the House on the Edge of Time and into the final Ravaged Capital. You encounter endless number of Wild Hunt so everybody in the party having Freedom of Movement is a must.

Also there is a Greater Ring of Balance in the same room where you find the 3rd key in House at Edge of Time. It's pretty sick, 5ac, immunity to fear, immunity to confusion and perma freedom of movemnt. However it only works on Neutral characters.

The mallet was on Hargulka the troll (well, the first one). There is also a scorpion-like bracer which grants you 5 rounds of immunity besides other stuff (from the hideout of the tech league, sounds like a relic from "Steel Gods"). Scrolls are being sold from the clerics in your capital.

I gave it all my spontaneous casters who can have it, although the big idea was to be able to use difficult terrain against the mobs in hard fights. In case you have no true cleric, you can buy a merc with full cleric levels as a last option.

Thank you all, that really helps!!!

I still hope devs will finetune here a little bit... nothing against a challenge, but relying on a mallot you found in act 3... what?! (I remember the mallot, and I sold it looooong ago ^^).

I also found the Ring of Balance and did a little dance of joy, until I realized I have no neutral/neutral characters... ;D

You sold it? A +3 weapon with permanent FoM? I keep it, polish it, and hold it in one of my weapon slots, just in case I need it ;)

Seems this padawan has to learn a lot... ;) I never needed FoM until now. (I have to admit, I play on middle difficulty, so one step more than story. Maybe that's the reason^^) And I found so many shiny +5 weapons... ^^

It's from the p&p game, where you never ever drop a FoM item, unless you have more than one (...not very likely...). The computer game doesn't include many situations where it comes in handy, so you are probably not the only one who sold the stuff after visiting Pitax :)

There is also a wand of freedom of movement to loot somewhere in the game.
It has only 11 charges I think but maybe you got it without realizing.
