Camp healing
So what is the proper way to heal in this game? Camping doesnt seem to do anything unless i have healing spells.

I know D&D has a hit dice mechanic for healing on rests.

Or is this intended behaviour and im supposed to spend 2-3 days just to heal fully?

If you don't have healing spells, yes it takes a while. Quite a while. That's what I understand.

Why wouldn't use the healing spells?
Its not that I dont want to use them, its just that if im resting that almost certainly means i dont have any spells left

According to the PnP game rules you heal HP equal to your HD for 8 hours of rest. Using Aid skill should double this amount, but due to PC restrictions it's realised through Tristian having this as a special ability. On the camp management screen you have the option to "spend remaining healing spells" which would be used to heal before they are replenished by the resting.

tl;dr rest more often while you still have healing spells. Or use potions.

For the time until around the Stag Lord I would strongly recommend to prioritize buying up Bokken`s small Healing Potions, for around 37 gold each, to heal smaller blessures after combat with them, if needed. - After that, it should mostly become a non-issue, with a cleric around.

You can also use potions and scrolls directly from your inventory if you're out of combat. Just make sure you're selected on the appropriate character, then right-click the potion or scroll and click Use.

If you need to use multiple potions/scrolls, you can then hit spacebar to reuse the item again and again, assuming you have a stack of them available, until the character is topped up on health. A good time saver, if you have potions/scrolls to spare.

I also suggest using potions, scrolls and wands at early game unless you are undead. If I even play an other playthrough, I will certainly use all potions as soon as I get them. Every thing lose its effectiveness so fast.
Additionally I do not remember exactly who but one companion have party bonus to natural healing as a camp special skill. It maybe be helpful.

To my knowledge, that was introduced in DnD 4e or 5e (I know it's in the latter, but I skipped right over the former) - Pathfinder is a modified form of DnD 3.5, so it uses that edition's natural healing (which is basically sod-all).

They invented the "everybody can heal himself, let's drop the healers" mechanic for 4E and kept a modified form for 5E. 5E is worse than the previous iterations, imho, but it is a trend to dumb down things everywhere, so it will have it's fans, too.

If I remember, you also get you Con bonus added to healing.

Agreed Morgain, the dumbing down of things, is well, dumb.
There may be a lot to learn in 'crunchy' game mechanics like Pathfinder, but its not hard.
Call me a pureist. Im ok with it.
