What class is best for first playthrough lore wise?
What the title says.
I know this is a big game and I want to experience it as best as possible for my first playthrough.
I like all roles to be honest.
Although I have a thing for sorcerers lately.
Also without spoilers what classes can I get from followers? If I have the same as a follower its gonna be a negative on the long run?
lso i have to say that I will play on normal. so no mix maxing stuff just a fun rp build that can be viable

ty all

Same classe isnt much of a issue given the flexibility of the system, two same classes can be built very distinctly, in fact 4 companions are of the same classe

As for your companions their classes are currently: Fighter (Tower Shield Specialist), Inquisitor, Bard, Barbarian, Magus(Eldritch Scion: Dragon), Wizard/Rogue (meant to follow the Arcane Trickster prestige classe), Alchemist, Ranger, 2 Clerics (one melee and the other pure caster) and 2 Kineticists ( one Fire and the other Water) (DLC only)

Personally i recommend something with some martial power given that this is real-time with heavy emphasis on combat and there's no AI meaning micromanaging will be your bane

There are no druid, monk, paladin or sorcerer companions. And there is no pure wizard (one companion mixes with rogue to go arcane trickster). If you do a full party of 6 you benefit from another meat shield and they really only give you one tanky companion so a front line character in full plate could help. But a sorcerer would certainly help too and you could focus on diplomacy, which is important in this game for obvious reasons.

hm I see. should i do the pre-gen dude Herdwig what was his name? he seems to be on the "cut scenes"

Running a no persuasion run, and it's hilarious. Valerie still won't join, and a few hours in and Linzi still isn't in the group (but her book and story keeps updating about us even as she follows Tartuccio around).

Lore-wise I quite liked my Aldori run (ranger: favored human, Aldori defender, swordlord, crazy good dex), and causing absolute chaos with Restov. I don't want to spoil much, but I suspect you won't go down that path.

Herdwig is the strongest stat wise character you can get and a good choice if you like sword and shield style fighter with high armor class. However the numbers of feats a fighter get can be overwhelming for new players.

A paladin hospitaler sword and shield in a front line shield wall duo with Valerie will probably be my pick if i was to start this game 'blind as a new player'. With stat looking like something like this 18,12,14,10,10,16 .. persuasion max, mobility 3

I've found the Sorcerer to fit in very well, but I can also see a Paladin since there are none.

Good to hear about paladin . I really like Paladins but i was kinda dissapointed in PoE because they arent exactly religious.

How should I allocate the stats in the begining for a sorcerer?

For a sorcerer that use charisma

Str: 8-9
Dex: 14-16
Con 10-12
Int: 7-12
Wis: 10
Cha: 19-20

*A sylvan sorcerer can dump his strength to 7 since his pet will carry everything. There are 1 Intelligence(sage) and Wisdom(Empyreal) type sorcerer.

Playing a Sorcerer is an absolute blast. Owlcat really nailed in - due to 1) crazy variety of spells 2) being able to cast outside combat 3) impressively detailed spell effects.

Only downside to a Paladin is, you have to be Lawful Good. That is one thing PoE did well, varying up the alignments. But like I said, there are no Paladin NPCs :(

And something else: if anyone has read the Berserk manga, or watched the Berserk anime.
What class should be best for a Guts build?

He is literally a 2h Fighter with the Diehard feat, mercenary trainning and everything.
Though i suppose you could go heavy armour Barbarian if you want that murderous rage element.
Stalwart Defender with 2h is not a bad idea either...
