Tenebrous Depths Strange Portal

On level 15 there is a partially opened portal to the first world in one of the early rooms. There is a foot icon to interract with it, but when you do so it states that it is not fully opened. There appears to be no way to interact with this portal or to return to the level at a later date after descending to the next level. What is this partial portal and is there any way to traverse it? As this was a +5 level increment I expected to fight a boss type monster to get more equipment access from the honest guy but I never encountered such an opponent on the level to my knowledge.

It's a way to go to the end boss in the rogue-like mode but you need all 21 quests items to do so.
Only a few peoples have manage to beat him and got the achievement without cheating in the rogue-like.

I think the honest guy inventory upgrade is bug and don't work as intended. Normally, he should get some kind of upgrade every 5 floors conquers but i have never notice any real change.

What exactly is Rogue-like mode? I don't recall any setting when I setup the game which referenced "Rogue-Like". As to the honest guy upgrades my understanding is that you have to defeat some special uber MOB every 5th level to unlock it. I am unclear if it unlocks on the current play throughs well as future plays or just future play throughs.

The rogue-like mode is the scenario outside the main campaign.
