Report a translation problem
I would give the same advice for weapons, armor, and anything else that none of your current characters need. Yes, you might meet someone later who can use some specific item, but unless you know in advance which item that is, you're better off selling things.
Again, I wouldn't suggest micromanaging such things via spoilers. An auto-sell item being needed later is an infrequent occurance, and it won't bankrupt your kingdom to occasionally buy something back from a vendor.
What made me wonder was the description on the pelts, "An item of interest to a vendor or collector , , , " The only other items I have seen with a similar description are the items the Storyteller is interested in.

They possibly had more intentions for the pelts but it didn't make into the final game?
