When will I find a magical staff?

I'm in Vordakai's Tomb and so far I haven't found a single magical staff. I'm not talking about quarterstaves (although I only have found 1 magical) but staves with magical proprieties for spellcasters like spells (per day or not), bonus AC, bonus DC, bonus spell slots etc.
I remember having this kind of staves in NW1&2 much earlier (altought I could be wrong since I didn't played those games for almost 10 years).
Right now, shooting with the crossbow is a waste of time for my sorceress and besides a dagger that gives AC I haven't found a single useful weapon for her.
Have I missed those magical staves or are they that rare?
I must admit that I'm quite disappointed to not having founda single one in more than 80 hours.

IIRC, there might be a few staffs that you can find at that point in the game. At the very least, you should have found a staff called the Crimson Councilor in the Varnhold fort that can cast scorching ray and fireball. It might still be bugged however; previously, the charges wouldn't replenish, so it quickly became little more than a fancy quarterstaff.

Ok, thanks but it still a shame I can't found some as loot earlier in the game.

Yes I read what he wrote and that's precisely why I'm asking. I didn't went to the fort and it's not accessible after finish The Varnhold Vanishing so that's why I would have liked to know if I could continue the main quest or if I had to go pick up the staff.
Anyway, I just reloaded an old save file to try the staff and it's completely bugged. I can't cast a single spell with it so it's not a big loss.

.... Then you somehow managed something impossible.

The Varnhorst Fort has to be visited to being able to meet the savage goblins. From them you get the information where to find the cave with the barbarians. This barbarians then send you to their base, where you fullfill quests, which brings you to Vordekais Tomb.

Of course, if you want to destroy your own game, then you do not follow the questline. And no, you cannot enter the Fort afterwards again.

And regarding casting spells via some additonal item: you can still use wands. Of course, they do not regenerate, so you can only use them limited times. Or buy scrolls.

The crimson councillor was the only magic staff I ever found, all others were quarterstaffs. I never asked Irlene for a staff and I never got one at random from her, so I don't know what you can get from that source.
