There are other escape routes besides climbing the wall, and other skills that help with them. For almost any character, you can find a trick that works. You might need to reduce encumbrance and armor penalties, buff ability scores, think about items that boost skills directly, use summons to draw monsters away from your path, etc. Every potion, scroll, and wand you've ever found becomes a possible tool here (though in some cases, only if you've got ranks in Use Magic Device.)
I enjoyed the challenge of figuring out how the hell to escape this apparently deadly ambush, but I grant that some characters may truly have no feasible way out. But even worst-case, you can reload and come back when you're more powerful. I don't think there's a time limit on this quest.
And yes take the neclace in you found in Varnburg (you can triggern an event that some guards will lead you to the city, the neclace is in one of the chest there. and put away all crap stuff which is havy)
If you're in light (with decent dex) or no armor you should be able to actually sneak back and around to bypass the climb check. I've done that multiple times.
Who give a ♥♥♥♥ about stealth roll if you are hasted, you outrun the ennemies and even if you take some damage you will be able to escape.
You are the one overlooking what people took time to answer to you. But Eh what to expect from the steamforums....
After that go back and enter the castle through the main gate.
Start dialog with nymph and have invisibility potion prepared. When the battle begins go behind the tree to make Hydra lose a sight on you and drink the potion. The Hydra will stop then.
From there you have 3 options:
1. Pass another check and climb the wall. Then use Haste and run till you can jump to the wolf's location.
2. Just run on the wall trying to avoid Redhats. Again you need haste yourself.
3. Summon monsters to distract enemies and sneak by them.
