Does Dragon Disciple progress beyond level 10 in this version?
I'm looking at my class progression, and I have stuff for levels 16-20, having taken dragon disciple as early as possible. I'm currently a level 5 sorcerer/level 3 dragon disciple.

Levels in Dragon Disciple and Sorcerer stack for the purpose of advancing your Draconic Bloodline abilities. The actua Dragon Disciple prestige class only has 10 levels like every other prestige class.
For future reference - I don't believe there is a single Prestige Class in Pathfinder (even counting all of the ones in the tabletop that didn't make the cut for this game) with more than 10 levels.

Correct. Prestige classes are always 10 levels. However some of them (such as dragon disciple) have their levels stack with another class for certain things. Dragon disciples add their DD level to their sorc levels when determining bloodline feature progression. Arcane trickster levels give you a level of spellclasting class for each ArcTrx level. Stuff like that.

So the reason i'm getting DD progression all the way to level 20 is because of my sorcerer levels..

Exactly. Here's the tabletop version[aonprd.com] if you want a clearer idea of how it's supposed to work.

And aside from RP purpose taking Dragon Disciple on sorcerer is a massive waste. At least do not take more then 4 levels of it.

Your opinion. I love dragon disciples. I based this character directly on my table top character, who is also a Dragon Disciple, and a much higher level one at that.

Common opinion. Pathfinder nerfed Prestige classes compared with D&D. So they're almost always a RP-pick and almost never used in min-max chars.

That table top character is for pathfinder. I have not had any problems with him so far, and this campaign has had us facing some pretty tough enemies. Besides, even if I did care at all about min-maxing (which I don't), I'd still choose this prestige class for this character.

And honestly, what's wrong with choosing a class for roleplaying purposes, anyway? You act like it's an inherently weaker choice.

As someone who picked a prestige class for roleplaying purposes in a tabletop campaign: they're inherently weaker choices. I never regretted any of my choices but I would never pretend they're mechanically strong choices either.

Well, we're talking about CRPG. Here combat is ~80+% of content and all RP is going inside of your mind. This why I point of combat inferiority of DD.

Of course you can play as you want - everyone have it's own tastes :)
