Help me decide between electricity & fire for Sorcerer
I'm wanting to build a blaster sorcerer as my main character. Help me decide between fire element vs. electricity. I haven't played much beyond the stag lord fight, so I'm not sure what will benefit me more long term. I know in tabletop fire is the most resisted element, but I don't know anything about this AP to know if it is resisted a lot here.

I'm fine with letting my companions be the primary forces in my fights until my build comes online if it comes online post-stag lord.

Thanks in advance!

I took both on my cleric. There are not many electricity spells in the lower levels. Also for a sorcerer I'd say pick cold instead (let the clerics do the fire damage) and then pick electricity once you get much higher.

Also in tabletop sonic is the least resisted. I have no idea how many sonic spells there are out there but I have seen very few creatures resistant to it

Just a warning spell descriptions are sometimes wrong. I nuked my party with a 9th lvl area spell that wrote 'enemies only'.

No its not the wrong description, its you reading it wrong. It means you can target it only on an enemy (not the landscape and not on an ally), or in other words you have to click it on an enemy.
The spell description after that should read "every creature....".

As for the OP.
Fire has explosions that can hit your own people.
Lightning has arcs that wont hit your own people.

Damage and resist wise they are about the same in this game.

Im not sure if lightning arcs proc sneak attack if you go for arcane trickster and make attack from invisibility, i am however sure that a fireball explosion does.

All ENEMIES around a target POINT. But damages everyone in the AREA it says bellow. Why is it marked all enemies above if it will hit everyone in the area? It makes no sense to me.

If you look at the description in PF it doesnt say anywhere its 'all enemies'. They have messed it up. https://www.d20pfsrd.com/magic/all-spells/p/polar-midnight/

If you read below the targeting section it says "All creatures take x d y damage".
But the targeting section suggests to me that you can actaully target the ground, so i have to conceede to you that this would confuse me too.

Yup, I did read below as I mentioned. But I nuked my party first. Thankfully I tactically nuke my party so wasn't a big deal. :P

Also true about the fire. You gotta be careful and make sure you cast protections just in case. I prefer electicity, the 8th level area damage and stun spell rules but not much I could find for the starter levels.

I'd probably go for fire since is has some better spells: Scorching Ray, Hellfire Ray, Sirocco, Obsidian Flow. Electricity more or less comes down to Chain Lightning.

Stormbolts is great too but its 8th level. So you wont get many slots but its amazing against the final mobs.

I would go with fire, lightning spells are few and in between but you'll get a ton of fire spells right from level 1
You can burning hands at level1 for 10damage right from level 1 (spell specialization) and will end up hitting for about 17dmg at level5.

It's a description bug. That they're getting around to fixing eventually.

Why not both? Air Bloodline + Fire spells = Fire or Lightning at your leisure.

Both are great, but there are much more less electric spells than fires ones. Looking at resistans I think cold would be the best option, however there are even fewer cold-based spells than other. And besided one there are not really good.
But there is no problem havig them both - fire and electric

Bloodline Arcana guarantees you can convert any element to your element of choice. The elemental bloodlines are underrated.

Enemy immune to Fire? Toggle on/off your bloodline and murder it with Lightning/Cold/Acid or whatever elemental damage type your spell would otherwise be. Plus the bloodlines give elemental variants of the bread and butter low level offensive spells (Fan of Flames / Scorching Ray) and get a decent ranged touch attack because why not.

Yeah! That's something that many people doesn't know about, and I don't think is very clear written over there.
Actually for my next game, I wanted to have sorcesser with one of those bloodline, at least when I'll be able to finish my current game...
