Gnarled Branches and A Score to Settle... A quest marker would be super helpful but, where are they?
Gnarled Branches I've been spending months (out of game) looking for, due to basically giving up for weeks at a time because I couldn't find it. A Score to Settle is mostly because I'm searching the dwarven ruins and finding nothing. I already defeated Tartuk and his bunch...

Gnarled branches
You have to talk to the two fey on the Witch Hut map (north side) and tell them you will take care of the scythe tree. If you already killed it, you cannot start the task.

A score to settle
This task is finished when you deal with the three stone trolls in Trobold. It is getting closed by talking to Ekundayo in the capital and telling him what you did, if he wasn't with you. If you already finished with Tartuk, you most likely have killed them already.

I already spoke to the fey, which is why i have the quest in the first place. I just can't find the thing they want me to kill.

And Ekundayo has been with me this whole time. I "killed" Tartuk but never found Ekundayo's troll.

Check bottom right hand corner of witch hut map.

Check bottom left (head down and left from the main entrance) of the troll keep if you still have access for it. You may have missed out.

I can't reach the bottom left portion of the troll keep map: there's an impassable cliff in the way.

I can't drop the group, and I can't go back to the capital without turning in Troll Troubles... I think I'm locked out of the quest involving the Verdant Chambers.

It's just inside on the first floor of the actual keep.

If you go south-east, there should be a ruined village. You can get to the tree at the furthest SE part of the map by passing through the ruined village (with an NPC Spectre in it). The village is to the east of the Area Exit (S).
